The Fall of the DCPD

Disbandment

The DCPD is disbanded as a result of internal turmoil, opening the way for the West Sea Traders Military to enter Dustria City and essentially provide a vicegrip of control to Cole Johnson and Gemstone Industries.   Little do they know that this also opens a lane for a new coalitions to form in direct opposition to Gemstone. One formed from the shambles of the DCPD in tandem with the other forces of good operating about Dustria City, and this force fighting on the side of justice calls itself The Stand.

An order known as the "Emerald Initiative" is sent out to all Dustria City Police Department personnel. For many, this mysterious message means nothing. But for just as many others, it is a sign to turn on their once friends and allies. Approximately 57% of the DCPD personnel turn on the spot and begin attacking their friends and co-workers.   The chaos that this event causes spreads throughout the city as footage comes out of high ranking DCPD officials defending themselves and other officers killing one another. This leads the Council of Three to make an emergency motion to disband the DCPD immediately and replace it with forces from the West Sea Traders military.   Chief Richard Briggs, along other individuals from the 17th Precinct, retreat into the Southern forest of Dustria City to meet up with former DCPD Captain Gregory Porter, who has been missing for several months. The two reveal to their allies that they have anticipated such a catastrophic event for several years and have prepared a contingency for such a day.   The members of the DCPD who turned were part of a secret plot by Gemstone Industries to gain total control of the city. They had been reporting to Cole Johnson and Andrew Blood all along. Meanwhile, any surviving and loyal members of the DCPD established a new fold of vigilante peacekeepers for Dustria City known as The Stand.
