Wildlife: Grasses, shrubs, and tenacious trees cling to existence within the hills' vicinity, adapting to the harsh climate and carving out niches within the sunbaked terrain. The hills host a diverse array of wildlife, from hares, foxes, and badgers to small birds and cliff nesting falcons that thrive amidst the arid beauty.

Humanoids: These hills are home to tribes of resourceful Garuun rock gnomes, who dwell in an intricate network of interconnected underground burrows. Vigilant and cunning, they surveil their surroundings with a watchful eye, using their ingenious trap-making skills to discourage unwelcome intruders. The gnomes' traps, a marvel of engineering, serve as a deterrent to outsiders. Despite their reputation for wariness, the Garuun gnomes maintain amicable ties with the Ranfaroth centaurs of Palanlad, engaging in sporadic trade that fosters mutual respect and cooperation.

History: During the cataclysmic upheaval of the Great Cataclysm, the hills of Jarak Tarma remained largely untouched. The region's robust sandstone bedrock weathered the earthquakes with tenacity, deflecting the worst impacts. The Garuun gnomes, resourcefully prepared for the worst, retreated underground to ride out any potential chaos storms that came their way.
