Description: Concealed within a bleak horrifying landscape of low sharp peaked mountains and broken hills lies the great fire goblin kingdom of Gok Grusmak. This malevolent realm stands just east of the desolate ash-covered wasteland of Vornlithdor, and emanates an aura of darkness and decay. Within the kingdom's stark geography, the fire goblins thrive in an environment perfectly suited to their twisted sinister nature. The broken hills and rock-strewn mountains provide natural defenses and serve as fortifications for their wicked empire.

Residents: The fire goblins of Gok Grusmak possess a twisted affinity for alchemy and simple dark magics, which they employ to further their malevolent goals. Their hatred for the beauty of nature drives them to despoil and destroy everything within their grasp, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake. Rumors circulate of alliances formed by the goblin king of Gok Grusmak with the Turoch of Vrok Mul and one or more evil dragons residing in the treacherous Goraukoros Range. These unholy pacts further enhance the kingdom's military strength and pose a dire threat to any who dare oppose them. Their maze-like warren of subterranean dwellings fill the landscape but are difficult to spot as all entrances are carefully concealed.

Government and Politics: This land is ruled by a despotic goblin king who seized the kingship by force. Historically, a goblin king's rein lasts only as long as they can defend their claim to the throne. Nefarious plots by rivals erupt frequently and most rulers are king for only a short time before their untimely death ends their reign.

Gok Grusmak maintains an uneasy alliance with the Turoch. They have agreed to a pact of non-aggression, but don't trust each other enough for full cooperation. The goblins also have some understandings between themselves and several of the dragons of the Goraukoros Range. However, this may be little more than the dragons agreeing not to attack the goblins in exchange for the goblins providing information and tribute. As for enemies, the greatly hated Ranfaroth Tribes of Palanlad clearly rank as the most feared and hated, as they have crushed numerous incursions by the goblins into Palanlad.

Economy: The economy of Gok Grusmak relies on pillage, plunder, and forced labor, as the goblins exploit the resources of their conquered lands to sustain their wicked society. With a subtropical climate and arid conditions year-round, the goblins are well adapted by gathering their food and performing much of their outdoor activities at night when it is cooler. The goblins also produce iron that they smelt down in underground chambers. They gather their iron ore from nearby Ferakk Mountain. They often trade this low grade iron with the Turoch.

Military: The goblins of Gok Grusmak, known for their warlike nature, ruthlessly defend their land against any intruders who dare to encroach upon their territory. While their warriors may be poorly trained and equipped, their sheer numbers and swarming tactics make them a formidable force. Secret tunnels run under the surface throughout their territory, allowing the goblins to move large numbers of troops without being noticed. Enemies unwisely advancing into this area can find themselves surrounded before they even know of the goblin's presence.

History: Gok Grusmak's history is marred by violence and oppression, its dark reign casting a shadow over the land for untold ages. Goblins have inhabited the Gok Grusmak area for countless millennia, their dark presence interwoven with the land itself. Their history of relentless aggression and a thirst for power, creates a belief that it is their destiny to seize whatever they desire through force and cruelty. This great goblin kingdom survived the Great Cataclysm due to the goblins ability to take cover in tunnels during chaos storms.

Today: Gok Grusmak stands as a terrible blight upon the land, a goblin kingdom hidden within a horrifying landscape. Its inhabitants, driven by a savage lust for power, wield simple dark magics and swarm their enemies with sheer numbers. They wantonly despoil the beauty of nature, and willingly form unholy alliances with vile creatures to strengthen their dominance.
