Burning Forests
Geography
A cross between a wasteland, badlands, and a petrified forest, the Burning Forests is a collection of forests that were burned, destroyed, then petrified using a combination of magic and natural forces. The "trees" are stone-hard formations with sharp edges and low, close-knit branches that are used by many of the native species as homes. The forest floor is unstable, riddled with gorges with semi-clean streams and heated geysers that emit gasses that can spontaneously burst into flame, giving this treacherous region its name. Famous places are Glassweave Fountain, Scorched Remains, and Nadriv Rift.
Fauna & Flora
Hookthorns and Firemoss are probably the most common vegetation, but Sparkferns and Gathra ivy grow in the safer areas. Other plants occasionally grow in the treetops, and sentient species manipulate their growth to provide hospitable homes and dens.
Natural Resources
Firemoss and Redvein stone are probably the most common valuables, but Embergems can be found growing on branches. For creatures who work the more... distasteful jobs, Starseers are native to this area.
