Scorched Remains

Government

Before the Annexation, Akaria was a bustling village of Skitters with a simple government. Based on the writings that survived, they had three classes; Gatherers, Nettles, and Oaks. Gatherers collected food and herbs, along with various items and materials the other two classes might need. They were great navigators and survivalists. Nettles protected the city, had Kartarak armor, and carried surprisingly effective Hookspears. The Oaks were the ruling class, though only because of the Sequoi, the leader of the village, who was a healer and prophet(es?). Supposedly, a Skritter could do anything they please. If they displeased another Skritter, the offended and offender were brought before the Sequoi, who read the past and decided on a punishment.

Assets

Because the Scritters didn't farm, the soil's nutrients have not been used and the village is known as a good place to find edible fruits and plants. It is also a Truce Mark, where all creatures are not allowed to inflict damage on another Sentient.

History

When the village was founded in the sixth Age of Stone, around the Night Mark, it was small and peaceful. The inhabitants established a trade route with a nearby village of Helarad, who traded herbs and exotic fruits for pretty much anything the Scritters found. Akaria was still a small town when the Helarad tribes went to war with the Testonins. Nobody really knows why, but at some point, the Testonin army, aided by their most powerful mages, desolated the entire region and then petrified the leftover trees, killing hundreds of Helarad and ensuring they would never return. Akaria and its innocent inhabitants were lost in the fires, leaving blackened ruins to be found by the Starseers.

Tourism

An eerie but intriguing place, Scorched Remains is famous on Wofuth for its food source and the fact that Starseer Wisps seem to be stronger when in the presence of the ruins. Some Fauna visit to meet with the inhabitants, six Starseers whos spirit companions have strange and powerful... powers. Visitors do not stay longer than a couple of hours, unless asked to by the Intelaren (the six Starseers. There is a theory that they are waiting for the Prophesied, though who that is or will be, no one knows...). For the sight seekers, in the center of the village is a tree that was petrified in full bloom, known as Rejekaven Tree.

Architecture

The Skritters appeared to have rock foundations around their chosen plant, which they will nurture and grow into the top part of their den. Most Scritters appear to have chosen young trees for their homes, based on the tree homes that survived the fires but were petrified. Some homes also had basements that led to other cellars.

Geography

Akaria is located next to a small stream that runs fast enough to provide relatively clean water. The homes are arranged in a spiral with a few layers. There is a large clearing with a petrified tree in the center. What makes this tree special, and what attracts sight seekers, is that this tree escaped the fire and was petrified in full bloom.

Natural Resources

A known food source for inhabitants of the Burned Forests, paired with a relatively clean stream. Honestly, it's kind of strange that the Scorched Ruins hasn't been repopulated by a lot of Fauna.
