S01E07 - Vengeance, Justice and a Crusader
General Summary
There has been trouble in the media of late, with all major outlets in Millennium City covering the faux pas and subsequent violence between Blizzard and Firestorm; two friends-turned-heroes who were on the receiving end of repercussions due to Blizzard accidentally giving out Firestorm's real name in an interview. Whilst The City Runner and Millennium City News Network did not give out the details, The Millennium Scoop gave all details, even going so far as to investigate the two Heroes and give out their full names.
We join our group of Heroes, having separated for the day after the action at the detention centre that once housed the villain known as The Crown. Alex returns home, contacting Poppy Patel en route. Uskir and Karl make their way to the manor to begin repairs and Brick Wall goes his own way, for the time-being.
When Alex meets up with Poppy, there is absolutely no attempt to hide her identity as Lady Liberty, choosing instead to trust in the loyalty of her friend over the need for discretion. Is this a wise decision? Follow the adventures of our newly formed Hero Team, Millennium Marvels and find out!
Alex contacts the rest of the team. Brick Wall is strangely absent from the gathering of Heroes. Djinn and Úlfhéðnar terraport to Alex's home, where the team divulge a great deal of information regarding their current investigations into Prescott Industries, the PRISM and the kidnapping of Carter, Rochelle. Poppy Patel, clearly enthusiastic about the team's candour, and the fact that they just handed her the starts of the story of her career, promises to keep things under her hat until such time of irrefutable proof is given regarding the investigation's outcomes.
As the team continue to discuss things, Úlfhéðnar and Poppy receive details of what sounds like Firestorm attacking a property in The Quays. The team (including Poppy Patel this time), terraport to the property. Once there, they witness Firestorm, in full rage trying to blast the mansion which Blizzard is protecting. Whilst it is clear that Blizzard is not the target, Firestorm is clearly angry at him as well for his involvement in the deaths of his family.
As the team take stock of the situation, the Millennium Marvels get their first glimpse of a new hero, floating above the scene in his powered armour suit. Crusader, having just arrived himself, watches at Firestorm, now in a full frenzy of vengeance, turns his attacks on his once-friend Blizzard. At this point, the group watching decide to intervene. Crusader hovers down to Blizzard and covers them with a shield, whilst the Millennium Marvels tackle the hot-headed problem head-on. The fight is quite a brutal one which, at one point, sees Firestorm lifting Lady Liberty into the air, allowing his aura of fire to do the work for him. She then managed to pile-drive him into the ground with a resounding thump, followed by a wheezing whimper from the once fiery foe. The battle concluded, Crusader and the Millennium Marvels formally introduced themselves to one-another and details were exchanged.
Firestorm is then dropped off at the MCPD 3rd Precinct and the group spend some time filling in the paperwork associated with the arrest, with Úlfhéðnar ensuring that all i's are dotted and t's are crossed. Once this is achieved, the Millennium Marvels meet up once again with Crusader, whereby another deluge of information is shared regarding their investigations. The Millennium Marvels gain a new member.
