Magmus Dynasty

The Magmus Dynasty, also known politically as the Isolationists, was the imperial government of Infernia during the Isolationist period from 425 until the dissolution of the Inferno Empire in 1006. Being mostly prelivent in areas of mostly Middle Lampian, the Magmus Dynasty is the head of several faction in the center of Terra Flammae, such as the Duchy of Ignis Civitatem and the Confederacy of Conservative Factions.

History

The Magmus dynasty's rule was first established by Yiyad Magmus after victory at the First Siege of Ignis Civitatem in 425. The Magmus dynasty organized Inferoian society under a strict class system and would much later ban all foreigners under the isolationist policies of Seprata Rula to preserve political stability. The Magmus emperors governed Infernia in a feudal system, with each kingdom administering a king, although the country was still nominally organized as imperial districts. Under the Magmus dynasty, Infernia at first experienced rapid economic growth and urbanization, which led to the rise of a powerful yet corrupt merchant class and the creation of the High Lampian culture. After this however, everything became stagnet. The rule of the Magmus dynasty was briefly interrupted in 494 after a successfully coup lead by the Eternia Dynasty put the Eternia Dynasty back in power for a few years. The Magmus Dynasty would regain power due to the humiliating defeat of the 496-497 Candelae-Lampian Border War causing the Eternia Dynasty losing support of the Empire. After regaining power once again, the Seprata Rula was signed in 498. This radical change in foreign policy led to more distrust the more expansionist and reformist factions in the Imperial Council. In the following decades, tensions rose when the current Magmus Emperor died without a male heir. In his place, the Imperial Council elected a member of the Eternia Dynasty to become the next emperor. However, before he was even crowned emperor, the Councilmen who voted for an Magmus leader held a separate election and voted Urtto Magmus as the true emperor. After a long war, the Magmus faction won out.
