The Consensi

Yes, reality is malleable. It depends on the expectations, will power, and perceptive awareness of the observer.   Yes, if your will power is strong enough, the people around you do experience the same reality as you do.   If enough people agree on what’s real, those local conditions can quickly blossom into a stable consensual pocket in which no other existential frequencies or versions of reality can exist without being acted on by an outside force.   It’s a neat trick.   But the Consensi are taking it too far—or they will, if we let them.   It is believed that this dark cabal of self-appointed “Powers-That-Be” have been working for aeons (perhaps even since the birth of the Connodo) toward their ultimate goal: to mold not only their own plane, but the entire Gri’x itself, into their own version of ideal reality.   Philosophers and other researchers are fairly certain that the core Consensi members are native ‘Nodians themselves who, upon discovering the Gri’x, saw an opportunity for expansion. If they manage to amass enough energy to collapse wave functions beyond the ‘Node and the Gri’x, it’s entirely possible that their narrow perspective may infect the entire spectrum of Quondamaric probability fields, collapsing the wave functions to a viscous sludge and eliminating all other possible realities: past, present, and future.   If they succeed at bending all reality to their whims, the event-point spirals will whither into flat circles. Existence as we know it will come to a stand-still—and no one else will be able to work to change it, because no one will be able to imagine, remember, or expect any alternatives.   The objective of The Consensi is clear, but their motives are not. Why would anyone want to eliminate the infinite potentiality of reality? Do they think they have a moral high ground? Do they see themselves as Creators? Has the Omnulic spark within their souls (assuming they have them) gone haywire, fanned by egotistic winds into a megalomanic conflagration? Are they merely self-important manipulators, just trying to see how far they can reach? Or might they be victims themselves, controlled by an even more powerful Power beyond?   In the end, their motives aren’t important. Their methods are blatantly obvious, once you know what to look for, and their goal is reprehensible to all free-thinking Gri’xians and other citizens of the multiverse.   ‘Nodians should watch out, too...because, according to all available evidence, that’s where it starts.
