Personal history
Roxanne Hughes grew up among the Chicago-Midwest Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel. Alongside her was her best friend, Victor Ortiz. The pair were accepted into the Order together, became Knights together, and had hoped to become Paladins together as well. Their final assignments before this promotion would be seperate ones. Roxanne's group would be sent to Memphis on a scouting mission, and Victor's was, supposedly, sent into Missouri investigate the pre-war military bases in the central part of the state. Roxanne and her group returned to Chicago safely, though Victor's had yet to come home. Roxanne was offered the promotion to Paladin, but she insisted she wait for Victor's return, which caused her to face disciplinary actions.
One year went by without a sign from Victor. At this point, Roxanne's superiors forced her to take the promotion, which only served to dissolution her further with the group. Even worse was that she was beginning to find evidence that the group knew what happened to Victor, but was refusing to tell her. Frustrated, Roxanne feigned leaving on an extended solo expedition. She walked to the other side of the CMBOS territory at St. Louis, abandoned her armor, and began searching for her friend.
Education
Roxanne is well-educated in the functioning and maintainance of energy weaponry and power armor. She is also well-trained in team leadership, tactics, and sharpshooting (with energy weapons).
Employment
Before defecting, Roxanne was serving in the Brotherhood of Steel as a Paladin. However, nowadays she works odd jobs to pay the bills while also attempting to track Victor's whereabouts. Right now, she is working as a caravan guard for Roadrunner Delta.

SELF CONCEPT TENETS, BEGINNING OF STORY:
- I need to regain normalcy, and the only way to do that is with Victor at my side
- I serve the BOS because it is what I know best, potentially losing that part of my life scares me
- I genuinely think the BOS controlling the Ozarks is the best thing for the land and its people, because (barring exceptions) they have generally done right by me (however I also know no different)
- I try my best not to engage with potential conflict, particularly in interpersonal relationships
