The Todoshi Islands
Military
Military service is a very important part of Todoshi culture, children are trained from adolscence in multiple forms of combat, both armed and unarmed, with manditory service required of all Todoshi citizens between the ages of 21-25. Once service is concluded each person is given the choice to remain as either active duty, going into naval forces, police force or city guards, or logistics depending on their aptitude; those who choose to leave active duty are offered reserve duty or no duty. Many choose reserve duty, only being brought into conflicts or protection in times of emergency. Those who choose no duty are seen in two lights by thier fellow citizens, most understand that the continuous life of a warrior isn't for everyone, though the eldest members of society, who still remember the Archipelago War view those who leave any service without medical reasons, as cowards. This mentality has slowly died back as fewer and fewer old warriors remain, though it is still held by their children, and even grandchildren depending on the family.
