Torodasi

The Torodasi is a long jacket like garment with the lower falling traditionally around the mid thigh, though some smaller factions inside the Todoshi have longer or shorter lower hemlines. The Torodasi is a right of passage for young Todoshi warriors, it is worn under their armour and is their most utilised piece of equipment, and as such, each young warrior creates their own Torodasi, with many warriors continuing to make additional Torodasi's for their own use.

Traditional Design

The traditional Torodasi is a long garment, falling to the mid thigh at the lowest point. It is secured with a series of buttons or clasps falling down the non-dominant side of the creator. It has no lapel, with a raised collar, with about an inch of height, and stiffened; traditionally with thin wire sewn into the collar, though in more modern times, and for comfort, kept stiff with a lining of leather on the inside. The lower half of the garment, from the waist down, is quilted and lined on the interior with leather, as a form of basic armour around the waist line. Not all Todoshi have armour on thier legs or waist, so incorporating basic armour into the Torodasi itself is important. The Torodasi sleeves traditionally fall to just above the elbow, but again this is a choice for the warrior when they create it, some prefer short sleeves, or to ommit them entirely, other prefer mid length or three quarter; Full length sleeves are very rare, and normally only used by Todoshi who live in far colder environments closer to the Southern Ice Wall.   Design wise, the colour, patterning, and embroidery is up to the warrior themselves when they create their Torodasi. Some prefer to keep the colouring and designs simple and basic, others sew and pattern in intricate designs and shapes. The only main semi forced rule with the design, is that the colouration should follow thier family colours.

Additions

Other designs and additions to the Torodasi are again up to the warrior, with some having multiple Torodasi for multiple use cases with different additions. Most common additions are a hood, affixed around the collar to shield against rain and wind. A mantle secured over the shoulders that contains either fur on the inside, leather armour on the outside or both. Extra strap loops around the waist and chest for looser armour.

Raw materials & Components
Commonly a Torodasi is made from the common fiber/fabric in a region, and dependant on the environment the Torodasi will be worn in.
For those in the warmer northern islands the Torodasi is made from either linen or cotton, with some more wealthy warriors making thiers from silk. In colder environments sheep and alpaca wool is used, both for its strength and natural warmth.
