The Source of All Magic

All magic stems from a connection to the eldritch forces as utilized by Zhal during the creation of the universe, though not nearly on the same scale, and is replenished by the life energies of Oryn. To harness these eldritch energies the spellcaster need only exert his will against the nature of the universe and bending to his or her will. Sound difficult? It is, which is why spellcasting is a rare and wonderous talent across the realms. In pursuit of this elusive gift, six major schools of thought have arisen, which though the major technique of bending the universe to your will remains the same, the methods and desired results vary greatly.
