Necromancy

What is Necromancy?

  Necromancy is the magical arts that grant a mastery over undeath, and to a limited degree, life and death. A practiced necromancer can manipulate the eldritch forces to reanimate corpses into abominable creatures that defy the natural order of the world of Oryn. This practice will pervert the very nature of the spellcaster, causing him or her to begin merging with the very things they create and can extend their lifespans well beyond that of normal mortals. Very successful necromancers typically become liches, vampires, or other dark and twisted forms of the undead.   Very seldom is the art of necromancy practiced as a force for good, and in most civilized societies, it is banned outright. That has naturally caused the practice to go underground and secret, and many necromantic cults have risen over the years. Once any of these cults are discovered, many are eradicated by the various city or state governments and military.   Examples of necromantic spells can be found below.
