Session 11

General Summary

EVENING - JAMARRO 22nd   PLATEAU'S FOREST - Displacer Beast Camp-
  • Aqeck returns once the coast is clear
  • Mak'Ti cuts perfect Displacer Beast Pelt, Lyka does not and gets 6 medium pieces, Bord does worse and cuts like 12 small pieces
  • Mark and Bord take some Rogue Dust while everyone is prepping Mak'Ti for the Full Moon (Mark gets 1 Addiction Counter Point)
  • Mak'Ti changes at the Full Moon, in his beastial rage breaks free of restraints, but as soon as he is free calms down
  • Lyka, seeing GREG free, tries to smack him down (not knowing he is now calm) with his glave and MISSES (Natural 1), his hand instead going into Greg's beak, causing an inadvertant bite
  • Lyka becomes a wereraven and immediately turns into a small raven, who in turns attacks and turn Vrae
  • Vrae goes to attack the others but they all flee before she can turn them
  • Bord uses pyrotechnics to blind Vrae and Lyka ravens so he can escape, as T'nin and Mark, fueled by Rogue Dust, flee north
  • Vrae and Mak'Ti ravens stay in the small cave, while Lyka's ravens shoots off to the North following the northward wind back to Wingperch
PLATEAU'S FOREST - Northern Forest Closer to Wingperch
  • Bord chases after Lyka raven, nicknaming him "Chicken Nugget"
  • Take many tries for Bord to capture Lyka Raven, they fly for hours
  • Bord eventually captures him and brings him back to the camp hours later
PLATEAU'S FOREST - Displacer Beast Camp
  • Mark and T'nin smoked pipeweed once things calmed down to relax
  • They watch for Bord and make camp in the cave with the Vrae and Mak'Ti ravens, now calm and going to sleep
  • Bord comes back hours later with Lyka raven
  • They prepare for sleep, Lyka tries to hump Mak'Ti, then Nuri, Vrae Raven sleeps in Mark's hair
  • Group takes watch, does not notice much
LONG REST - Jamarro 23 Begins
  • In the morning Mak'Ti, Vrae, and Lyka wake up naked, Vrae on Mark's head still
  • Mak'Ti, having awoken earlier, goes outside to read
  • Lyka is enraged and goes to attack Mak'Ti, but the heightened emotions trigger his change, and he comes a raven once more and flies east
  • Mak'Ti unconcerned, tells the group about Teleportation Circle Scroll he has that can get them to Brightshell Harbor and a potential cure
  • Vrae sits with T'nin and tries to learn meditation and calming excercises so she can control her emotions and not turn like Lyka
PLATEAU'S FOREST - Eastern Forest
  • Lyka Raven found an abandoned Campsite (former Malar campsite)
  • Turned back into human while flying, barely managed safe landing, though injured.
  • Found by Mak'Ti and Bord who turned into Ravens and went looking for him
  • Lyka still furious, but is desperately trying to control his emotions so he does not change
  • When they return, after everyone has eaten and dressed, Mak'Ti uses the Teleportation Circle Scroll he bought
  • They all join hands while Mak'Ti casts the spell, then jump through, arriving back in Brightshell Harbor at the circle near the Arena
BRIGHTSHELL HARBOR TELEPORTATION CIRCLE
  • Mark and T'nin stay behind as the others go to the third circle to find the Magic Shops
  • First they put manacles on Mark to make it seem like he is just a human prisoner (they remember the human hatred in the city)
  • They are tempted to take more Rogue Dust (especially Mark who is suffering from a failed addiction roll), but choose not to
  • They notice a lot of people looking at them, thinking it is because Mark is a a human (who are not liked in the city), little realizing it is also because T'nin is an Air Genasi and the people of Brightshell are wary of Cloudscape attacking since things with the Genasi Kingdoms have been so tense as of late
  • Standing so close to the circle, they are jostled by multiple groups of warriors heading to the arena coming through
  • One group, THE BRAZEN BRIGADE (Champions League of Oroccid and Domunz - CLOOAD ) they both decide to steal from. T'nin stops Mark, reminding him of his manacles, but T'nin manages to steal 4 Platinum pieces and a little baggy of glowing greenish, plant-like dust drugs (LUHIX) from a Dragonborn of the group, little knowing it is Fiendish drugs
  • They retreat to a little alley to stay out of the way
  • During this time they also go to Brightshell General Store North and make some purchases including more parchment and ink for Mak'Ti
BRIGHTSHELL CUSTOMS
  • They make it through both customs checkpoints without issue
  • Da'Ath does lie twice about having KOCE on him (Demon Blood), but he is fine with it
  • Da'Ath is also stil struggling mightily to contain his rage and anger at Mak'Ti
POTIONS OF THE SEA
  • Checked all Magic Shops, found anti-dote here
  • Lyka took Blood of the Lycanthrope Antidote and it succeeded
  • Vrae pretended to take the second vial, actually kept it. She tells no one
  • Lyka goes to attack Mak'Ti, but the Wizard is ready, and casts Suggestion, making Lykalada'ath basically his slave for the next 8 hours (which upsets a lot of party members)
  • They make their way back to the circle, Lyka calm and restrained by Mak'Ti's spell
BRIGHTSHELL HARBOR TELEPORTATION CIRCLE
  • Group meets back up with Mark and T'nin, who show them the money and drugs they stole
  • T'nin and Mark try the LUHIX, which instantly immobilizes them
  • Bord recognizes the drug, and explains to the group that they'll be fine after 10min to an hour, but all their abilities will be enhanced (+2)
  • They decide to head back to the Carved Chain Inn to recouperate, Lyka carrying the pair
  • At this point they realize that Lyka DOES NOT HAVE HIS CHEST, and realize they left it behind in the Displacer Beast Camp
THE CARVED CHAIN IN
  • Welcomed back by Yorta as Mark and T'nin drug effects wear off
  • They are amped to go to arena once the food effects kick in
  • Bord plays a set to get them all drinks and food, which they happily indulge in after a few days of only rations
  • Mark tells them the story of how he tracked them, noting they are well-known in the Arena in Twin Falls
  • While discussing Mark and Judai'aruk and the potential dangers, T'nin says "I can take him" which triggers the following memory:
"T'nin is in a familiar alley, wearing full military armor with a large FANG insignia on the front. He is speaking to a blue-skinned alien (which is now knows is a Vedalken, and realizes must be Judai'aruk), though he cannot remember the conversation. They seem cordial. He can sense the alien is POWERFUL, and is honestly unsure if he could actually take the mage if it should come down to it. As the conversation ends, they clasp hands, like an agreement, and T'nin walks away."
  • Mak'Ti does not think it is a good idea to fight in the Arena, neither does Vrae who knows she might be triggered to change to Wereraven form
  • Lyka still wants to do it, saying they are low on funds
  • UNKNOWN TO PLAYERS, were spotted by Svunkisk (Psurlon) in the bar (looks like Tortle) who follows them to the Arena, unfooled by their disguises as he saw them put them on
  • Mak'Ti and Vrae leave to go to the Magic Shop
  • The others head to the arena, discussing their plans to disguise themselves
BRIGHTSHELL INVENTIONS
  • Mak'Ti brings in Displacer Beasts pelt to make a CLOAK OF DISPLACEMENT
  • Tries to Sell Harkon's Bite, is told he'll get more money for it at Potions of the Sea (sells it for 900GP), Yazu of Potions of the Sea will give it back to Perry at Full Moon Grove
  • Ja Kronun says it will cost 2000GP and take 1 week to enchant the CLOAK OF DISPLACEMENT
  • He offers to drop the price to 1500 if he gets vial of Mak'Ti's Lycanthropic Blood and vial of Vrae's Celestial Aasimar Blood
  • They are wary, but take the deal
  • Vrae reveals to Mak'Ti she is still Wereraven
  • Mak'Ti agrees to keep her secret and train her to control it
  • They head to the arena to watch their friends fight
BRIGHTSHELL ARENA
  • Bord uses his disguise kit to try to disguise the group, with mixed results
  • Bord rolled a 19 for Mark - who looks like a pretty good Elf
  • Rolled a 5 for Da'Ath - who looks like e has leprosy (but still looks like himself)
  • Rolled a 2 for T'nin - Lucas described him as looking like a fart
  • Rolled a 1 for Himself (Bord) - described as looking like a Meth Addict
  • Get to the arena and are told their fight will start in an hour or so, a 4v4 Match against the Splinntahr Siblings, who they are told are all Tortles

  • Prep for LYKALADA'ATH VISION of where Creche is! (either near the farm for the mission, or known to the Psurlons!)

  • Any extreme emotion, especially fear or anger or hatred
  • Seeing a friend or loved one being injured
  • Seeing or smelling a large amount of fresh blood

Terror of the Night

When you take a long rest, you must succeed a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or become transformed at a random point during the rest, attacking the nearest available creature a minimum of 2 turns if able. Your actions and bonus actions must be used for melee attacks against other creatures if able during those turns, and attempting to transform back afterwards must also succeed a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. This does not use your limited transformations, and you still gain all the benefits of a long rest if you resume your rest before 30 minutes past. In order to remember the events of this transformation, you must succeed a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw, otherwise you have no recollection of these events.
  • Each long rest that you do not transform due to Terror of the Night, you may attempt to gain more control over your transformations by making a DC 10 Constitution Check.
  • Each long rest you kill creature(s) while transformed due to Terror of the Night, gain a -1 modifier to the Constitution Check in attempts to control the beast.
  • If you succeed in an accumulative total of 5 Constitution Checks when you attempt to control the beast, you automatically succeed on saving throws for the Terror of the Night feature except on full moon, in which case you have advantage on the saving throw.

CHAR Saves (Resisting the Curse)

Whenever the character transforms they must make a Charisma saving throw, DC 15, which increases with each failed save or decreases with each successful save. Once the save hits DC 20, the character has succumbed to the Beast and is permanently lost, taking on the effects of embracing the curse. On that same note, if the DC hits 0, the character has completely mastered their inner Beast, and does not have to make any more saves, except during Full Moons.

CON Saves (Full Moon)

On a FULL MOON, the afflicted character must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or suffer the Terror of the Night effects with a DC depending on whether the player chose to embrace or resist the curse.
  • Resist the curse - DC 20 Constitution Saving Throw (Mak'Ti Has with advantage since he conquered TERROR OF THE NIGHT)
  • The curse is at its strongest whenever there is a Full Moon in the sky
  • DC 10 WIS Saving throw to remember the night if Transformed

For Next Session (review!!)

  • Bord's new book will have songs he recognizes, melodies and lyrics that are similar to the ones the Cult gave him, ancient songs used while worshipping deities that proceed the known gods
  • LYKALADA'ATH will soon learn location of CRESCHE, A.) Learn from Psurlons B.) Sense psychic link if they go near FARM mission south of Brightshell Harbor C.) Get knocked out during a fight
  • If Vrae and Mak'Ti remain Wereravens, will become EMISSARIES OF THE QUEEN, chosen by the Raven Queen to stop the coming darkness. See New Deities Coming to Domunz
