Mrendil
Driver of the Moon and Minder of Resolve
The First Lady of the Star-Lords, Mrendil is not technically in a leadership position but is still held in great esteem. She is the specific patron of Night Elves. Like all the gods, her domain consists of three aspects: a celestial body (the Moon), a part of nature (Light), and a social principle (Resolve).
- In her manifestation as the Moon, she is seen as a guide and instructor, sought out when one has lost their way in a literal or metaphorical sense.
- As one of the three gods of Light, she represents "inward" light, that which illuminates and benefits the self. It is the deliberate intake of knowledge and wisdom, and the satisfaction of curiosity. She is thus revered by scientists, magicians, explorers, and others who seek new knowledge.
- In her aspect as the Minder of Resolve, she represents the will to persevere and complete a task in defiance of all obstacles. In this, she is invoked in the pursuit of missions and undertakings of great difficulty.

Tenets of Faith
There are few clerical orders dedicated specifically to Mrendil. Far more common are institutions of research that view her as a patron, but are not religious in structure. Those orders that do exist are small in numbers, and focused on specific causes, tending to be disbanded once their mission is fulfilled.
Prayers to Mrendil are made in secret and never spoken aloud. Those in greater need meditate on their needs in solitude, and may isolate themselves for hours or days at a time as they concentrate wholly on their plight, hoping for answers.

Mental characteristics
Morality & Philosophy
In lore, she is seldom-spoken, nor does she go out of her way to become involved in the problems of others. She does not lightly give her blessing or her aid. However, when she deems that her help is needed and appropriate, she becomes a tireless benefactor, giving her all to the task at hand until it is completed. When not engaged in causes, she focuses on seeking knowledge and power for her own purposes, which she keeps and does not share easily.
