Personal history
Eliraine was born in Silvertower, the coastal jewel of the Kingdom of Lorintha. Her father was a full blooded Lorinthan, but her mother carried Thalori blood from a line that had migrated to Silvertower in the mid Elven Age.
From an early age she demonstrated a keen interest and acuity in astronomy, surpassing her tutors in the mapping of the stars and the prediction of celestial movements. Though gifted, she found Lorinthan scholarship stifled by courtly patronage and factional rivalries. By her third century she headed North, drawn by the tales of Thaloris whose bronze domes crowned the northern Velvet Coast and who's great observatories were unrivalled the world over.
Around 3950 EA Eliraine settled in Thaloris. There she cast aside Lorinthan silks for the attire of the Bronze Elves and immersed herself in their culture. She painted constellations upon her arms during temple rites and begun her study beneath the domes.
During The Sack of Thaloris, Eliraine attempted to save scrolls and bronze star-charts from the observatories. She was seized in the streets, beaten and dragged away in captivity.
Driven west in chains, Eliraine was indentured to a holzen noble household in the city of Hornstadt. There she pointed out constellations for the amusement of her captors, tracing the Bronze Crescent while their guests mocked her. Fragments of her writings survive among exiled Elves and sympathetic scholars.
