Over 200 years have passed since the humans of Orienta rose against their Elven masters, led by a minesite slave born of little significance named Alerio. The rebels defeated the ancient Kingdoms of Lorintha and Halentha in a bloody revolt and formed the Imperial League. With their common foe banished from their lands, the new fledgling nation promised a bright future for the former slaves as humanity defied the fate of servitude their creators envisioned. Yet the Elves, exiled to the south, would not so easily relinquish the holdings of their ancestors.
Merely 12 years into the Imperial Era, the League’s capital of Skyreach was consumed by a burst of raw magical power never seen before or since by the creations of the Gods. As the Emperor Alerio and his Imperial Seat were consumed, so was the dream of the Imperial League. It fragmented into new warring nations, with Humanity turning on each other as suddenly as they unified.
In the year 201IE, the Grand Duchy of Novaya and Holzreich are locked in a brutal attritional war. The Nobility of the City States of the Velvet Coast commit subterfuge and espionage against their political rivals, some paying lip service to the dream of the Imperial League, most valuing only the renown of their own House. In Siarland, ancient loyalties to the Elven Kingdoms of old clash with the new world order. South across the sea, the Elves in exile plot their return, yet they seem as divided as their usurpers.
Across the continent, political machinations and ancient grudges fuel a ceaseless struggle. In this world of shifting alliances and unyielding strife, the fate of Orienta remains as uncertain as it is tumultuous, poised on the edge of an uncharted future.
