Battle of Ŋökmahat

The Battle of Ŋökmahat was the largest battle in the second phase of the First Varhoŋïan War of 24976 AYM. Occurring on 17 Geta-Eimarae, it was the culmination of a series of strategic engagements known as the Ŋökmahat Campaigns. The battle saw the joint offensive of various forces of the Varonian Trade Coalition, namely the Lómóhüdian Expedition led by Šðýï-Ŋökmahat and the Army of Vërðïm led by Ölh-Ïýëk, in an attempt to relieve the siege of the Maðúšýïan Army led by Úvremk. It consisted of many deceptive and multi-front techniques, resulting in the near-complete destruction of one of the five Yoži, or segments, of the Maðúšýïans, but the further offensives of other Yoži forced the Coalition back. Nonetheless, it served as the closest the Coalition forces got to victory, as well as the last time they operated as a semi-united force. As such, the bravery of the troops and the partial successes earned in this engagement have lived on in Lómóhüdian tradition and represent a key component of the city's cultural identity.
