High Priest of Tyraq
Long may he reign...
Lurking in the shadows of the Cathedral, the High Priest rules over all in Tyraq. Wielding most of the power out of all nine pillars, he uses it carefully and seldom for the good of those beneath him. Those that take up this role are chosen by the other eight pillars though go through gruesome training to do so. Oftentimes, those with this role end up the puppets of the other eight...but not this time. The new High Priest of Tyraq has his own motives.
Duties
With the largest city on the continent at his disposal, the position of this role is obviously one of great power. While oftentimes, the other eight pillars are given many of the necessary tasks to run such a colossal city, the High Priest still must conduct plenty of duties. One is of course the representative of the Tyraqi faith of Meism. Throughout recent years, Meism has spread far and wide from east to west. This is largely due to the current High Priest's more militant methods. With the army of Tyraq at his back, one by one, towns and cities have become vessels of Tyraq, vowing servitude to the Meic Goddess, Menelza. Though that is not all, traditionally, the High Priest has served as a public figure, showing his face in public gatherings and making speeches to vast crowds but neither have been of interest to the current Malikai, the Quiet.Appearance
Being the single most important representative of Tyraq, the High Priest's attire is typically one of glamour and jewelry. Past Priests have adorned themselves with beautiful jewels mined from across the realm. The finest of black silks and finely crafted metalwork. But now? The current Priest sticks only to dark fabrics, rarely anything more than cloth, with a metal chest piece, perhaps the only fine piece of craftmanship on his person. When beyond his own chambers, a hood covers his face down to his brows. Much of his face is often covered but when it isn't...those that have gazed upon it claim the color has faded completely to a somewhat pale white. But what is even more disturbing is the whiteness of his eyes. Blank and colorless, save for his gray pupils. Though in spite of this, during any appearances in front of those beyond his own servants, he is accompanied by a great staff. One that is forced upon any High Priest. In it, are two moonstones implanted to the top and a serrated edge on all sides but the hilt. Down its hilt are thorns that face down, crafted out of the same dark metal as the rest of it. Whoever crafted such a tool, never meant for the user to feel comfort from holding it.Type

Location
Being effectively the crowned representative of Tyraq, the High Priest's place of work is the city of Tyraq. More specifically, the Cathedral. Here, he remains. Within this majestic structure, his quarters are located in the highest tower that is linked to the rest of the edifice via a bridge. Here, the greatest view in all of the city can be found. Though it was previously encouraged for the High Priest to leave his quarters daily, the current appears more than happy to remain locked away in his tower for days at a time. What occurs in there is known only by himself and his servants.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
