The Cathedral
The heart of Tyraq...
Atop the highest hill in the city, lies a colossal edifice. A structure known as the Cathedral. Within the towering, stained crystal windows and cold, black stones that together make up the exterior shell of this labyrinth, is the primary seat of power for all of Cenath. Here, the nine pillars reside, dictating the lives of their subjects with an iron fist.
Location
Within Tyraq, this beast resides. Looming over the city, casting a shadow upon those beneath it. Atop its hill, the Cathedral demands the utmost respect. Beneath it, the sprawl of Tyraq seems like an ocean of light and darkness and people and muck. Yet despite the sorry sight of the buildings below it, the Cathedral still remains pure and virtuous. Though, those that reside in it, are far from that. Behind its immense towers and domes, sit the mighty range known as the Cynnish Rises. Mountains, that host a range of foul beasts; on the contrary, they offer the best defense from outside attackers that one could ask for, and of course the most splendid of views.Purpose
Within its walls, the nine pillars of Tyraq conduct their business. A great many chambers provide the government with the most comfortable of lives. Above all, in the highest tower, the chambers of the High Priest provide the best views over the city. Here, the highest of the elite class of Tyraq live a life of comfort and luxury while they determine the fates of those they rule. On top of housing the government officials of Tyraq, the Cathedral sits as the single most important church for the polytheistic faith of Meism. A religion that directs its faith towards the Goddess, Menelza. While there are other faiths that believe in the Goddess Menelza, Samji being the most notable, Meism is the only one that chooses to pray directly to her.Type

Interior
Inside, a plethora of seemingly endless corridors run between the rooms. Libraries, bedrooms, kitchens, storerooms, more libraries. Many of the rooms have remained untouched for decades, even centuries. Within the largest dome, however, sits the throne room. Here, a vast hall acts as the primary point of power for Tyraq and holds nine thrones, galleries, pictures from many centuries ago, and beautiful, crystal chandeliers. Luxuries that are reserved only for the elite class.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
