Humans

Ociles humans look much like the humans of earth, but with two differences. The first is that their average height is around 8ft tall, with all other changes that come with increased height. the second is that they have a much larger range of colors for their bodies. Blue hair with purple eyes is a completely natural occurrence.

Humans are highly adaptable, making them capable of living in nearly any environment. This has allowed them to spread like wildfire over the surface of Ociles, and made them the dominant species. This adaptability has also made them great explorers in The Otherworld, a place where you need to be tough and clever.

Humans are omnivores, but many have preferences of food. If humans are able to eat something, they may refuse to because they don't like it. These preferences can fall to the wayside in extreme circumstances, but your average run of the mill human will have food preferences that they stick too.

Humans have spread all over Ociles, and have started spreading into the Otherworld as well.

Ociles humans have the same senses as earth humans, but those who have lived in the Otherworld for extended periods of time can develop extra senses. They can detect powerful magic, allowing them to sense dangerous creatures filled with magic or large pools of loose mana.

Last names are made of two words together. Stormwarden, Hammerfall, Starwhisper, etc. When two families join, such as in marriage, they each take one word and combine them int a new surname. The marriage of the Sunshards and the Misthearts could form the Sunheart or the Mistshard family.

Humans have had many kingdoms throughout their history, but currently humans have joined together to form the Concord of Humanity. This alliance is made of four major cities, Dewport , Gryphonfall, Oxguarde and Riftshire. Smaller towns and cities exist, but these are the four big ones.

Ociles is currently going through and industrial revolution, and humanity is leading the charge. Robots that do manual labor, airships, simple guns and more have been created in the mighty forges of Gryphonfall.

Humans have generally good relations with the other species of Ociles. The naithar stick to their own island mostly, but those who leave are welcomed. Muntjac often live near humans, and the two races are generally friends. It would not even be too strange to see a human home with a muntjac or two living with them. Satyrs are a bit of a shameful moment for humanity. Before the Otherworld, before the Concord of Humanity, humanity went to war against the satyr kingdoms. The war was bloody, violent and nearly ended with the satyr's extinction. Fortunately, the fighting stopped before humans killed all the satyrs, but the effects are still felt. Satyrs are still rare sights, and many still feel guilt when they see one. Humanity has done all it can to help satyrs back to their feet, trying to fix their ancestor's mistake.
