Duskfen Hollow

Duskfen Hollow is modest in size but well suited for military use. The interior contains:   -Bedrolls and camp furniture for a small squad,   -Storage crates for rations and tools,   -A fire pit used for heat and limited cooking,   -Weapon racks for patrol gear,   -A narrow secondary recess used for emergency shelter or staging.   -The cave’s mouth provides clear visibility across the trade road approach, while the natural rock creates strong defensive cover against archery or sudden attacks.

The cave now known as Duskfen Hollow was originally utilised by Clan Dalkurharn. The hollow served as a minor forward shelter and ritual rest point for Dalkurharn scouts patrolling the sandstone slopes around Duskfen.   Its placement at the foot of the hill allowed Dalkurharn patrols to monitor movement along the natural valley paths and maintain a presence close to the Duskfen mining routes without establishing a full settlement. The cave’s natural stone recesses provided shelter, storage, and a defensible fallback space.   During the political fragmentation following the assassination of Ryth Redstone, the hollow became the scene of a violent, unexplained confrontation. Clan Redstone force clashed with the Dalkurharn patrol stationed at the site. By the time travellers later arrived, all involved were dead.   Some months later, Clan Bogclutch extended their influence into the region and took control of the hollow. Recognising its defensive value and proximity to the Oak Trade Road, they restored and repurposed it as a permanent patrol base. Since then, Duskfen Hollow has served as a Bogclutch-manned outpost, providing shelter, supplies, and a strategic watchpoint for scouts safeguarding the central trade routes and supporting operations at nearby Duskfen.
