The Aetherveil House
The Devotees
Structure
The family structure of the Aetherveil Family is based not on merit, but on devotion, children of the One True God shall be judged whenever their elements are discovered and put to the test immediatly thereafter to decide if they deserve to stay in the family, or to be given to The Forest as tribute to He who shan't be named.
It is a hierarchical structure rooted in principle and order, hereby presented from highest to lowest position:
It is a hierarchical structure rooted in principle and order, hereby presented from highest to lowest position:
- The Family Leader is Christus Aetherveil known as the Magister Sacrorum, born with absolute sacred power.
- His male children are referred to as Summus Cardinalis, and he has 13 of them, each of them entrusted with overseeing the activities of the lower-ranks and report directly to the Magister Sacrorum. Most if not all of Christus' 13 children are reported to be Divine Soul sorcerers just like him, blessed by the King's blood itself.
- His grandchildren and some highly devoted vassals are called Episcopus, tasked with political work tied to the ministries of the Sacra Monarchia.
- And finally, the Sacerdotes, mostly vassals or friends of the family charged with spreading the holy word of The King in a community level and ensure absolute loyalty to his sacred tenets of faith.
Culture
The Aetherveil have a culture of total subjugation faith is tested each and every day, and heretics of the One True Religion are despised in rites of hate.
They didn't choose to settle on the Forest of Decay as it fell on them, but they aren't aggrieved about it either. The everlasting life of this Monasterium representes exactly what the King wishes for all of its followers, an eternal life of bliss, peace, and happiness that no other God could ever promise to its followers as they only exist to get stronger off souls, not to empower them.
Hence, every member of the Aetherveil family is effectively immortal when it comes to aging or physical harm, they are fixated on the idea that they all need to live long enough to comtemplate when and how The King will provide all living beings with eternal salvation, this is why Death is not a penalty for Heresy under the family, but exile and disgrace, with the purpose of removing any hope that a heretic being could ever gaze salvation.
