Cleric - King's Domain

DRAFT - BALANCE CHANGES MAY OCCUR

Lord of Light
Bend the willpower of others to your own by the grace of your King.
(Prerrequisite: Be blessed by the King's Favor)

The King's Domain is focused on the three binding principles of the Sacra Monarchia: ORDER. PROGRESS. & CONTROL.
A Cleric of the King's Domain must follow the power of Authority, a manifestation proven to be greater than the divine, based on the one and only truth that makes the plane of Novarkan: "Gods don't exist in this plane, only the chosen one blessed with omniscience, omnivision, and omnipresence may change reality as he sees fit, through the power of Authority." Moreover described by the fourth tenet of faith in the Sacrus Codex Regis Votorum et Honorum: "The King's Authority is Final, for he is the supreme judge of all things, and he is the ultimate standard of what is true, and what is false."

Clerics trained in the ways of this domain tend to join the King's Guard or become a public employee, join a military branch, or provide clerical services in a Magisterium. To receive the King's blessing and be part of his domain, one must go through an exhaustive process and triumph over the challenges presented by the Order of the Magistrates in the Golden Citadel.

Level 3: Blessing of Omnipotentia
Physical obstructions are nothing against the King's Omnipotence. If you try to target a creature behind partial or total cover with a Magic Action or an Attack Action, you may use an additional bonus action to forfeit the effects of cover and target the entity regardless, even if you can't see it or don't know where it is. You may do this only once per round, and it doesn't apply to attacks or magic made with bonus actions, reactions, or AOE attacks/spells.
Level 3: King's Domain Spells
Your connection to his divine domain ensures you always have certain spells ready. When you reach a Cleric level specified in the King's Domain spells list, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
Level 3: Conjure Authority.
As a Magic Action, you present your Radiant Symbol and expend two uses of your Channel Divinity to invoke one of the King's Aspects, the Oculus qui Videt.
It takes the form of a small construct akin to the image of The King. Whenever you shut all your senses of sight, you may see through this eye as if it was your own. However, creatures with blindsight or truesight may still sense their surroundings like normal.   Choose a spot in a 30ft range for the Construct to manifest. It counts as a separate entity, so you must roll initiative for it. The only action it can take in its own turn is dodge. Consult the Oculus' Stat Block for further information. Whenever a creature of your choice enters the 10ft range of the Oculus, you may use your reaction to make the construct immediately take one of the following actions:
  • Order: the creature must make a Wis ST against your spell save DC, if it fails, the creature is temporarily charmed by you and must execute one single order of any kind with only one condition: that the actions ordered can be executed in the lapse of 1 turn (or 6 seconds) by the creature in question.
These orders may include making the creature walk up to its dashing speed, compel it to do one attack against itself or another enemy, make it talk for you, etc. The creature is not self-aware while executing.
If the action is deemed too long to be executed, or the creature has no action, movement speed, or bonus action left to make in that turn, the charm is wasted. If the creature succeeds the ST, it is unaffected and rendered immune to this effect for the next 24 hours.

  • Control: the creature must make a Dex ST against your spell save DC, taking (2 x your Cleric Level + your Wisdom Modifier) Radiant Damage on a fail save or half as much on a successful one.
If the creature gets incapacitated from this attack, you may order the Oculus to take another Control action targeting a different creature in range in the same reaction.

  • Bless: only those touched by the King's Favor may be targets of this special action. The selected creature must roll a Wis ST against your spell save DC, if it succeeds, it gets the Blessed Condition, 5 temporary hit points x Half your Cleric level (rounded down), and it may see through your Oculus whenever they shut their sight senses, not unlike you. If it fails the ST, it only gets the Blessed Condition. These effects lasts until the construct dissipates, but can only be applied to one creature at a time, and can't be applied to oneself.
The construct lasts for 30 seconds initially, + 1 minute per 5 cleric levels after the 3rd, meaning that it will last for 1:30 minutes at level 8, 2:30 at level 13, and 3:30 minutes at level 18.
Level 6: Authority Compels Thee
Whenever you target a creature with a level 1 spell or higher and apply a condition related to buffing or crowd control (healing does not count, but temporary hp does), you may choose one of the following effects to happen to it:
  • If you are buffing a creature, that creature can use their reaction immediately after the spell to make one weapon attack against a creature of your choice that you can see. If the spell targets more than one creature, you choose the creature who can make the attack.

  • If you are crowd controlling an enemy, you can curse it until the start of your next turn. The next time you or one of your allies hit the cursed creature with an attack, the target also takes 1d8 radiant/psychic damage (your choice), and the curse ends.
You can only target one ally or one enemy at a time with this ability per round.

Level 17: Improved Omnipotentia
The power of the King is yours to wield in his name. "For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke." You obtain the folowing benefits:
  • You gain truesight in a range of 10ft.

  • Your Conjure Authority's channel divinity construct may be teleported freely to any location you desire using the rules of the teleportation spell when initially conjured.

  • If you die and are not resurrected in 7 days time, or anyone tries to extinguish your soul via any magical mean, you're safely reincarnated via the rules of the Reincarnate spell and brought back to the Golden Citadel.

  • Your Blessing of Omnipotentia may penetrate magical cover in addition to physical cover.
