The Elsewhere

Reality flickers. Doors appear where they had never been before. An alleyway shimmers into existence before disappearing. Nobody seems to pay any of this any mind. Nobody seems to notices the seams where the world was stitched together.

Most residents across the Collapse are unaware of the presence of the world's seams that act as entryways into the Elsewhere. Fewer still are aware of the pocket realities that lie beyond those entryways; each one stranger and more unique than the last.

Geography

The geography of the Elsewhere depends entirely on the pocket one ends up in. These pockets range from man-made building interiors, to harsh caves, to endless expanses of natural geography, to translucent platforms suspended in the void of space.

Known Elsewhere Pockets

The Endless Desert

Located within Nexus, these sandy dunes are perpetually baked in a hot sun. Cacti and dried grass dot the landscape but leave no other landmarks. Despite the lack of water, one never seems to grow thirsty.

The Spider Caves

Located within the Scrapyard, this natural labyrinth is coated in webbing. One could easily get lost among its twists and turns.

The Observation Platform

Located within the Garden Shed in the Scrapyard, this translucent purple platform is seemingly suspended in the void of space overlooking a Crystalline castle far off in the distance. No matter how far one walks, the castle never gets any closer.

The Bastion

An endless white expanse Adora Cano has managed to transform into a safe haven.

Elsewhere Connectors

These spaces act as the seams that allow entry into their respective pockets. Some of them are caught between reality and the Elsewhere itself, but do not quite live in either.

The Sundance House

A house located in the Timeless Terrace in Nexus. This house doesn't exist. It would make more sense for it to exist than not, and it is situated between two other houses which do exist, but this house does not, in fact, exist. It leads to the Bastion.

The Garden Shed

Located by the Greenhouse in the Scrapyard, this innocuous Garden shed shifts into a connector space once you cross halfway through. It leads to the Observation Platform.

Localized Phenomena

Awakenings

Some people have claimed to have woken up within the various pockets of Elsewhere. It is unknown how those people ended up there, but typically they seem to require external assistance to escape when this occurs.

Malleability

Adora Cano has managed to figure out a way to mold the Elsewhere spaces with her magic creating doors and structures within it. This takes a massive amount of magical effort and no other individual has managed to replicate this feat, however occasionally other Elsewhere areas will warp and change.

Mirrors

Each Elsewhere space contains a mirror suspended on a wall, or on a surface where one could imagine a wall might be. Some mirrors are intact, others are shattered. Intact mirrors sometimes show reflections of a different version of the viewer. The memories that come along with the reflection feel real.

Fauna & Flora

While plants are not uncommon within Elsewhere spaces, no fauna have been recorded in any elsewhere space (short of the humanoids who may have awoken within them). Suggestions of creatures, such as spider webs or man-made objects like television sets are not uncommon, but no sign of their creator has ever appeared.
