Prologue - Session 0

General Summary

It's another beautiful day in Nexus, where our intrepid heroes have lived their entire lives. The trains are always on schedule, the Clocktower keeps everyone on time, and life is good. Except, perhaps, for those occasional feelings of Meloncholy (why does it feel like something terrible happened?), or the uncomfortable visions of your best friend across various reflections as she cries shadowy tears, or the haunting whispers of "I can fix it" that you'll hear when the world gets a little too quiet.
There's that mysterious stranger too....why do I keep seeing them?

Missions/Quests Completed

A Mysterious Package

Each of our protagonists received a non-descript cardboard box addressed to them with no return address. Upon opening the package, they were presented with a series of familiar objects and a Childrens Book containing a mysterious Cipher.
Fio
Fio's package was delivered to her home and brought to her quarters by her Butler, Ser Thornburg. She received a delicate white flower with a subtle glow and a soothing aura that reacted to her presence. She also received a Symbol of Mineralis carved into a small stone.
Ryshard
Ryshard and Astra arrived home to find the package on their Living Room Table. He received an unsettling if nonsensical book full of strange drawings and symbols, and a symbol of Horologium printed on an otherwise blank playing card.
Dwell
Dwell found their package sitting on the main stage of the performance arena, on going back in to grab something they had forgotten. They received an old Drow General's medal, not unlike the one held by their father, and a satin bag with a drawing of a weasel inside of it.

Fio solved the Cipher that evening, revealing the following riddle:
FOUR TICKETS WERE NEEDED TO ENTER. AGAINST PUZZLES AND PLANS WE TRAINED. NOW OUR PRIZE SITS AT ITS CENTER. THREE OF THE FOUR NOW STAINED.
Fio immediately conveys this information to Adenno.

De Ja Mais Vu

On turning in for the night, each of the characters experienced a dream. These dreams were unique to each person, but contained a commmon element: an unrecognizable shadowy figure.
Fio
Fio found herself in a shifting dream world. An image of a silvery forest, her friend/rival Gertrude Robinson injured by a gunshot wound, an ominous and unsettling temple, and a tired moment with an unrecognizable friend.
Ryshard
Ryshard found himself in a fun-house Mirror maze filled with shattered mirrors. In each shard he could see the Crying visage of Pan that had been haunting his waking hours. Her echoes of "I can fix it" reverberating from the mirrors. Lurking in the labyrinth, a shadowy figure watches.
Dwell
Dwell first finds themselves in an endless hallway, desperately trying to reach their Father on the other end, their heart full of anguish as they cannot seem to make any progress. Then, with the appearance of a Pink Butterfly, the Hallway seems to finally let them pass and reunite with their father. When this fades, Dwell finds themselves in a circular room lined with mirrors, each of them containing the reflection of a Crying Pan; but Dwell is not alone. Fio, Ryshard, and a mysterious third figure are in the room with them. On touching one of the mirrors, they all shatter, sending Dwell falling into an abyss as Pan cries "I can fix it"

Solving the Riddle - Part 1

Ryshard contacts Fio about the mysterious book he received, hoping she can reveal more about it. Meanwhile, Dwell received a text from Fio requesting their appearance at the Museum. When Ryshard and Dwell arrive, they're directed to a study room on one of the Museum's upper floors where Fio's assistant, Zell'ser Mohrgan, is waiting for them. Fio joins in and reveals the solution to the Cipher, only to get distracted by the fact that they don't recall having invited Dwell to this meeting. Dwell shows Fio the text on their phone, which Fio's phone has no record of. They decide not to press this further.

Dwell points out, in the riddle, that the connection between 'Tickets' and 'Train(ed)' is funny and this sparks Fio and Ryshard to recognize that the riddle may be pointing them to Nexus' central train station. On deliberating what the "Three of Four" is referring to, Ryshard suggests perhaps the four districts, but Dwell suggests it might be referring to the three of them, with a missing fourth given the contents of their dream.

With all of this in mind, the crew makes their way to the Train Station to investigate further.

A Mysterious Stranger

Over the course of the afternoon as the group made their way to the Circus Performance, they spotted a mysterious stranger watching them from alleyways that didn't feel like they should exist. The stranger had grey skin and pink hair and was dressed in a futuristic style. Attempts to approach the stranger or to photograph them resulted in the strangers disappearance and the photograph becoming corrupted.

Mirror Image

Ryshard keeps seeing Pan in reflections around town. Instead of her usual self, however, she looks tired. Shadowy tear lines stain her face and she is always looking through him, rather than at him. Often this is accompanied by her whispering "I can fix it" over and over again. Dwell has seen this too, but only in their dreams.

When confronted about this, Pan insists that she is fine and has no idea why people keep asking her about it.
