NanoCity Metropolitan Area
The NanoCity Metropolitan Area (most often referred to by residents as NanoCity Metro or simply, the Metro) is the Primary Eastern district located at the city's Three O'Clock position. The district consists of all of the land east of the primary divide, up to the Minutes Circle Line city boarder. Like all Primary districts, the Metro is divided into halves by an arterial road; in this case the EW artery.
The Metro has often been referred to as "a City within a City" due to its dense population and distinct departure from much of the chaos of Nexus. It features tall skyscraper towers and other sleek modernized buildings almost exclusively. At night, the streets are light by neon lamps and holographic screens lending to a bright and bustling 24 hour lifestyle.
As a Primary district, the Metro is zoned for business, industrial, and residential purposes; though commercial entities make up a larger percentage of overall space used. In addition, the Metro is represented by an elected representative who oversees this district, and assists in overseeing Cog & Code Gallery (shared with the representative for Gearspire Borough) and AetherTech Conflux (shared with the representative for Mythwood Shire)
The Metro connects to Fiberline Freeway at the city border, allowing trade and travel access to Neo City
Guilds and Factions
Technomancers Guild
The Technomancer's guild represents the various engineering unions in the area and works with the city to ensure that the technological infrastructure is effectively maintained, while protecting the engineers who keep it that way. Guild members are present across Nexus, but the Guild has the most power in the Metro.Datarunners Enclave
While the physical Postal Service is responsible for courier-ing messages and letters, the Datarunners Enclave is responsible for digital data and communications. This ranges from information brokers, to cloud storage centers, to the various interconnected networks across the city.Fiberline Trade Association
While Fiberline Freeway is not owned by Nexus, the first few miles nearest the city are considered under the partial domain and responsibility of the city. The Fiberline Trade Association (FTA) maintains that responsibility and works with the city to facilitate trade with NeoCity at the Freeway's other end. The FTA also controls civillian access to the Freeway to protect travelers from the various threats on the roadway.Points of interest
