Chapter Three - Session 14

General Summary

With the car gassed up and ready to go, the party bids farewell to The Scrapyard and drives off to Brassfounder's Street to make their way to Aetheria Machinara. Somewhere between the fog and the intriguing sounds of the Arcane Insights podcast, the party is reminded of the dangers lurking in The Outlands: whether it's violent automata, unwelcoming village folk, or howls in the night. The crew manage to pit-stop in Clatterby before night falls and work on some prep that will hopefully bring some safety to the rest of their trip.

Rewards Granted

The EMP

Ryshard has managed to upgrade Byeol's car to put off an Electromagnetic pulse, allowing the car to temporarily disable and ward off the various automata wandering the roads.

Missions/Quests Completed

The Rust Wolf - Part 1

Drawn in by the noise of the car, the party found themselves ambushed by a large Shepherd Class Automata in a state of some disrepair. They managed to escape with minimal damage, but the creature still lurks out in the fog.

Exciting Mechanical Planning

With the help of a mysterious artificer, Ryshard managed to sift through the remains of one of Clatterby's old factories to find all of the necessary parts to build an EMP.

Bump in the Night

After dark along Brassfounder's street is apparently a dangerous place to be. The party witnessed this for themselves as they stayed overnight at the Sunspot and could hear and howls and scraping of claws on the reinforced doors. What could be lurking in the shadows?

Character(s) interacted with

The Clankpot Goblins

Not much of an interaction given their distaste for tall folk. This group of scrappers seems remarkably hostile for living in what seems to be an otherwise friendly place.

Generically Handsome Human Man

Bartender of The Sunspot, this man was quite polite and offered the party food, drink, a place to stay, and a variety of exposition.

Monteray

This humanoid automata works at the Sunspot cleaning and serving drinks. He's polite, if a bit stiff.

Shula

This mysteriously cloaked young woman is apparently one of two sisters that lives at the edge of Clatterby. The pair are supposedly skilled artificers investigating some of the old factory ruins.

Notes

Meta Notes

  • The party has an interest in fighting the Rust Wolf but the GM didn't have that statted yet. It is an option moving forward I just didn't anticipate the immediate jump on that.
  • Dwell was absent most of this session so that their player could take care of themselves.
  • Bastion Progress

Bastion progress has increased to 6/7. Pigwiggle and Sprout are having a bit of a tiff, with the latter worried that the former will eat his precious crops. ST3-4M and Astra are enjoying having a friend to play with; though Sprout has disallowed them from playing around the Garden. Mineralis is still recovering, and is thankful for the lively energy around the place.
