Talsirian Expanse

Geography

The Talsirian Expanse is a fertile, temperate plain in northeastern Odrainga. Rolling foothills at the base of the Liavir Mountains gently flatten to grassy prairies that flow like rivers to the Elathien Ocean. Small forests and quiet woods dot the Expanse.

Fauna & Flora

The Expanse is home to innumerable plains- and forest-dwellers both magical and mundane. It boasts the largest population of wild owlbears on Odrainga as well as the widest variety of grasses. The range of wildlife diversity led to the development of a sustainable trapping and hunting industry, wherein targeted beasts are rotated each season like crops. While the more conservative environmentalists still reject the practice, the Court of Magisters has deemed the practice sustainable.

Natural Resources

The Expanse bears some of the most arable land in Odrainga. Consequently, almost every settlement regardless of size has a hand in the farming industry. Most of these settlements focus on local sustainability as opposed to to agricultural trade. In the foothills near the base of the Liavir Mountains, white granite quarries provide industry and export for Talsiria. Though Laefel and Duin'Vathemar are the only major sources of freshwater in the Expanse, numerous rivulets and ponds provide enough fish and water to eke out a living anywhere.
