Gothica
Gothica. A dark, shadowy land, to the west where sunlight can not reach. The land is a dead, rocky wasteland, with strange storms which appear at a moment's notice. It is the homeland of the Gola, as well as a cult which heralds the coming of the Apocalypse, the Sechi Legion. Such dark, foul things that come from this shadowy land. It is also home to many dark creatures, including some not even known to science.
The Gola keep a close eye on the many human villages and settlements that dot the land, holding an iron fist over all the land. Only the Sechi Legion appear to have been able to grow a massive city in the deep south of Gothica, seemingly without notice from them. They attract many people to their city with a hope of salvation, a hope of paradise, to be delivered unto them by the great God of the Apocalypse, Verszagro. Such promises are quite attractive, especially to those living in poverty at the hands of the ruthless Golan Empire.
But there is light. Albeit a small one. There are slight whispers of a secret human coalition which vows to deliver those poor people into the light, across the northern border into Atlantea where they might finally see sunlight. Where they might finally receive help from the Maji Guard. But could it be true? And could the rumours of Goblurin helpers be true?
Geography
Gothica is a dark and shadowy wasteland where almost nothing grows. For as far as the eye can see are nothing but rocky plateaus and tundra and plains, as well as rocky mountains. There are two large lakes in the north of the continent, but they are largely controlled mainly by the Gola, as a massive wall dominates the entire western half of the continent, called Grov'hal'van.
The south-eastern peninsula is largely dominated by the Bludwin Mountains. Lying on the north-eastern coast of the peninsula is the small human settlement of Trovan, and nestled in the foothills of the mountains toward the south of the peninsula is the fortified human keep of Bludwin.
Lying on the north-eastern coast is Borengar, the largest human city in Gothica, where the people largely live in poverty under the iron fist of the Golan Empire.
Ecosystem Cycles
In Gothica the sun never rises. The people living here have never even experienced sunlight a single second of their entire lives. A heavy, shadowy dark cloud covers the entirety of the continent. Along the eastern coast, there is a small hint of light, but it is largely blocked by the dark grey clouds the cover the sky for as far as the eye can see. Due to this, the temperatures are cold year round, and the people here have no concept of seasons for they have never once even experienced a changing of seasons.
Localized Phenomena
A dark and heavy shadowy cloud covers the entirety of the land, blocking out the sunlight entirely. As well, the Mystia in the land seems depleted, as though it has been drained of all life.
Climate
Due to the Gothican Night, where the sun has never shown over this land even once, the climate is cold and the weather unpredictable. Often there can be dust storms or even strange Mystia Storms that might spring up at a moment's notice. But other times the wind is dead still and eerily silent.
Fauna & Flora
The humans who have somehow scraped together some resemblance of a life here do not only have the Gola to contend with, or even their Vrok foot-soldiers. They also have to contend with the terrifying horrors that go bump in the Gothican Night, the Darkness colour Mystimon that stalk these lands, such as Skeletuum and Daemond.
The People
The Gothican humans here, having never seen sunlight in all of their lives, largely for the most part have very pale white skin. However, they also have had to live in poverty under the iron grip of the Gola and their Vrok foot-soldiers, so most humans here are emaciated and malnourished and tend to live shorter lives than those of humans in other parts of the world.
Natural Resources
It is unknown what natural resources could possibly exist here. Whatever it is, is entirely controlled by the Golan Empire.
History
A small human uprising in 2742 attempted to overthrow their Golan overlords, but to no avail, and the people responsible were either executed or managed to escape to Bludwin. Some whispers have been going around that the Golan Empire may be planning an invasion of this human keep.
Tourism
Of all of the places in the world, no tourists ever want to take a vacation here, what with the inhospitable climate and terrain, and the equally inhospitable Golan Empire. If you ever take a trip here, you can let us know what it's like!
