The city is bathed in the golden light of sunrise, a sight that has inspired countless poems and paintings throughout the kingdom. The population, known as Lathnarians, are celebrated for their warm hospitality, expert shipwrights, and devout faith.
One of its newest cities having been founded only 150 years ago it has quickly become one of its most important ports of trade. Connecting the four continents of Therassia, Pol, Elastar and Olmerrec together.
The city thrives as a hub of maritime trade, forging strong connections with the eastern continent of Olmerrec and the Elven colony of Naenas. Its harbor is a marvel of engineering, lined with elegant magically shaped living wooden docks where merchant ships and fishing vessels bustle with activity. The shipyards of Lathirian are celebrated across Therassia, producing the kingdom's finest vessels, from sleek trading schooners to formidable warships.
Lathirian’s heart lies in its balance between commerce and faith. Sacred temples dedicated to the Lost Gods and the Primal Forces rise near the waterfront, their spires adorned with seashell mosaics and glowing runes. These temples host annual solstice festivals, which draw visitors from all over Therassia and beyond to witness grand ceremonies, feasts, and vibrant processions.
The city’s cultural and strategic significance is undeniable. It acts as a bridge between Therassia and the wider world, fostering diplomatic relations with the Imperial merchant companies and maintaining a cautious but productive rapport with the Northern Clan Drenner, the only one willing to trade with the magical Kingdom.
Lathirian’s architecture reflects its maritime character, with whitewashed buildings capped with sea-blue tiles and open courtyards designed to catch the ocean breeze. The streets are paved with smooth cobblestones, often decorated with floral garlands during festivals.
