Master Hugon is a recent arrival in Golotha and, despite being a skilled swordsmith, has quickly become a favorite among Rethem's nobility for his high-quality dark metal armor and shields. He achieves this by carefully controlling the composition and temperature at which he works his steel, a technique he takes great pains to keep secret. It is rumored he learnt this technique during his apprenticeship in the mysterious Kingdom of Melderyn, and some say he uses magic, something Hugon half-heartedly denies.

Hugon has been involved in various brawls and fought off several attempts to rob or kill him, but has proven that he is as skilled with sharp weapons as he is forging them.
