This is the continuation of Session 457 – Tree of the Black Moon.

The heroes have returned to Anfla Island to defeat the powerful Crab-Titan Obsidapor, who has risen from the dead and is causing chaos. Obsidapor has triggered earthquakes, tsunamis, and destroyed coastal villages of the local Adaenum tribesmen. Hundreds have been killed.

After finally defeating an evil hag who has been causing chaos, they have learned that Obsidapor has been informed of the location of the holy site of Alhond, home of the High Guide of the demigod Manaclir. Since this gigantic monster bears a grudge, having been slain by Manaclir in the legendary past, the heroes are concerned that it will pay Alhond a visit.

Location: Feira Bay, between Fort Xuaka and the Alhond on Enlaya Island.

Part 1 – Obsidapor’s Spawn

The heroes and a dozen Adaenum tribal shamans and chiefs travel to Alhond on Enlaya Island using sturdy fishing boats. Hopefully, they will arrive before Obsidador makes an appearance; unfortunately, they are too late. As land comes into view, the crab-titan has left a surprise. Hundreds of his spawn, small crab-like monsters, rise from the sea and try to overwhelm the tiny, fragile land flotilla.

Although the swarm is troublesome, the heroes quickly eliminate it. Soon, the fishing boats are covered in rapidly disintegrating, broken crab pieces. Fortunately, none of the shamans are devoured by the swarm.

Location: The Alhond on Enlaya Island.

Part 2 – Destruction

The heroes arrive at Alhond and find it in ruins, with statues of the tribal gods destroyed and the large hut of the High Guide wrecked; only the bones of the High Guide and his twelve bodyguards remain. Obsidapor’s spawn have stripped the flesh from them.

The area is being ravaged by a fierce storm, with lightning illuminating the sky. Manaclir, the local demigod of storms, is angered, the heroes think. Soon, the party is assaulted by air elementals, resembling miniature lightning storms. These are dispatched, and shortly afterward, the heroes manage to temporarily calm the elements. However, a much larger storm appears—the true wrath of a storm god—discharging lightning bolts and sheets of sharp ice. Remy, mastering his control of the wind, flies himself and Odin to confront the storm, while Abaddon leaps from rock to rock and, using primal magic, grows to enormous size, capable of striking the raging entity from behind.

The furious storm is powerful enough to nearly slice Odin in half with a blade of ice, but thankfully, Edelina is nearby to provide magical healing. Eventually, the storm is subdued, and once it's over, the area returns to a somber calm.

Part 3 – Speaking with the Dead

The party and the Adaenum barbarians grimly move through the wreckage, identifying the skeletal remains of the High Guide. Edelina casts Speak with Dead. The spirit of the High Guide is angry, not at the heroes but at the destruction caused by Obsidapor, and is helpful. When living, he had communed with his god and learned how to call Obsidapor, the same technique used by his god in the mythic past to trap him.

The spirit of the High Guide instructs the heroes to build a grand bonfire and burn the venom of the Goliath Spider from the Deadwood Reef, the silver moss from the Heiryl Crater, and the blood of a hero. The smoke will be irresistible to the mighty Ivashu, and he will come to his doom.

The heroes plan to collect these special fuels and set an ambush for a malicious demigod.

To be continued.

Obsidipor - The Fallen

One of Ilvir's largest and most dangerous creations. The Crab Titan of Storms.

Manaclir, the Adaenum, the Great Grey God and Master of Wind and Wave, was jealous, claiming that Obsidipor stole his crown. The demigods fought a long and epic battle. The land beneath them was wasted and sank below the sea. Obsidipor was slain and torn apart, and his red blood stained the hill, creating the distinctive Red Granite of Obsini quarry.

However, a devious priest of Ilvir has resurrected this monstrosity, and it has embarked on a rampage of destruction.
