Queen Yolanda Edhelen
In 684 TR, the then twenty-six-year-old Princess Yolanda became Queen of Emelrene after being chosen by the succession council, passing over her two-year-old nephew Anavras.
A formidable scholar, Princess Yolanda was known for her haughtiness as well as her considerable intelligence and encyclopedic mind. She has never shown any interest in marriage, and fortunately for the realm, she has many younger cousins and nephews as potential heirs.
Queen Yolanda has governed wisely for decades and is well-liked by the nobility, merchants, tradesmen, and common folks. She also maintains strong relationships with her Emhle subjects. In foreign affairs, she has skillfully avoided crises and maintains excellent relations with her neighboring monarchs.
Despite her age, the Queen is in good health. However, in recent years, the heir apparent, her nephew, Anavras Edhelen, the Duke of Jerinal, has taken on some royal duties and been active in diplomatic missions.
