City of Perstrona

The monumental statue of the great hero Tacines dominated the southern road to the city. This attracts many pilgrims and tourists.

The city is growing, but many of the ruling elite yearn for the return of an Azeryani administration.

Government

Perstrona is governed by a strong Supreme Archon supported by a legislative council of 10 Archons. An Assembly of landowners and merchants votes in the Supreme Archon and Archons. Each serves a 1-year term, which cannot be consecutive. 

Religion

The city has temples to all the major legal gods except for Morgath; however, the worship of Varani is dominant, and the nearby mausoleum of the sainted hero Tacines attracts a large number of pilgrims.

The Serolan of the temple, Laena el Peridas, is extremely proud of her temple's new relic, the revered Horn of Tacines.

Military and Law

The city's defenses and laws are overseen by appointments made by the Supreme Archon and a local army.

The city contributes to one cohort of legionaries as well as several war galleys.

History

~1100BT - The city was founded and quickly became an influential state.

144BT - The city was attacked and destroyed by the city-state of Zaylura.

260TR - The Azeryani Empire conquers Kachya Island. Persona, now a sparsely occupied ruin, is revived under the Empire's rule.

657TR - As the Empire withdraws its legions to deal with external threats, the Great Secession begins. Despite considerable pressure from its neighbors, Perstrona remains loyal to the Empire.

661TR - The city is captured by the city-state of Peremach. The Azeryani loyalists are suppressed or driven out.

689TR - Perstrona joins the Karejian League.
