Reading Challenge SC '25

Apologies for the lack of layout, but a busy schedule and some personal stuff meant I am typing this by phone. Swipe-typing even. So I've texted myself a whole bunch of articles, time to respond to some stuff.   I really like ghost trains.   This one terrifies me.

  The age of sail is wonderful and romantic, but the age of steel and flight offers something entirely different. This is the age of iron men.

  Skyships are a mixture of the age of sail and the age of steel, something that can change the world. Of course they first have to get it right.

  Lots of seafolk treat their ship as if it's alive and has a personality. Well, this one is truly alive and apparently spoiled...

  Even skyships know cruise ships nowadays. Well, the rich need to waste their money in some way after all.

  Specialised cargo ships for animals are quite useful, glad they exist.

  Space, the final frontier! And it still seems to be, given how these failed.

  The crew of this ship always knows how to start a conversation. Get it? Because it's an ice breaker.

  Got to make sure you can land if you really want to make use of skyships.  

---

  Not everything is about massive ships, sometimes you need flexibility, to roll with the punches and an opposing wind.

What's Next

Now of course I need to work on my Pathfinder 2e campaign map, redo the stuff lost with my old laptop. Then to add the first arc's events, both PC and NPC, to make for a neat Chronicle. But that won't be my primary worldbuilding focus.   See, I managed to do 37 articles in my primary setting this summercamp, and I was very satisfied with most, even those written in my feral rush for full completion. And it really helped me flesh out the world but also my story idea. So next Novelember, I want to just start writing Lance Breaker. And for that, I need to use October not just for general prep, but to fill in some gaps. That way, I can finally get Valya's antics written down.   And then, there is Worldember. With all the ships I've read about this camp, I want to return to my Master of the Wind and Stormfarers settings, build those out with old summercamp prompts as inspiration, so that they too will be able to get their stories written out next year.
