Vosra, the Redeemer

A shard of the incarnate of hope, worshiped in Central Nefyran as the keeper of light and bringer of redemption.

The light of the goddess never leaves us, no matter how far we fall. There is no pit deep enough, that the greatmother cannot redeem us. She did it to Malkora, and she can do it for us.
— Faithful of Vosra
Vosra, the Redeemer is a shard of Vosra, the New Dawn, worshiped in the pantheon of Central Nefyran. In addition to the domain of hope, The Redeemer bears the domains of restoration and redemption.

Tenets

The tenets of The Redeemer maintain the incarnate's focus on goodwill and hope, but reflect the darkness of the individual more strongly than the darkness of the surrounding world. Her tenets focus more strongly on addressing inner demons and seeking the brighter path forward.
Leyline of Revelation by Strixxline
Open your heart to the light of hope. Thieve it not from the hearts of others.
Do not dwell on the corruption of your soul, for even these spectres can be dispelled.
When you fall to darkness, seek the spark within and light your own path forward.
May all who hold the dawn in their hearts rise from the ashes of their evils.
Do not fear the path of exile, for the sun will forever rise, anywhere you tread.
Have faith in your own redemption, even if it must be found in solitude.
Know that even in the wake of deserved rebuke, light yet lives within you.

Churches of the Redeemer

Fell Church of Entelen

Once the gilded monument of Vosra, the New Dawn, Entelen's total loss in the Siege of Eletta fractured the preexisting faith held by the people of the city, and cost its ministry their place in the Church of Dawn. From this fall came a lapse in the people's faith, not in Vosra herself, but in themselves and the path they walked. When the ministry of Entelen stated that the goddess wept at their people's plight, they were correct — but not for the reasons they cited.   With Entelen's excommunication from the Church of Dawn, the sorrow of the goddess and the shift in Entelen's faith created this fractured shard of Vosra: The Redeemer. The goddess yet brings her light to Entelen, in spite of all they had done in transgression against their former sister city of Eletta.
Birth of the Exile's Path
This historical loss, and the fracturing of Vosra was the catalyst from which the Exilepath Pantheon was born. Less centralized than other local pantheons, the gods which make up this pantheon typically encompass domains dear to those who find themselves lost or outcast. Thus, these gods — The Redeemer included — are less commonly found worshiped in grand cities and settlements, or among those who have the favor of all of their neighbors, should they have any at all.   Entelen's faith in The Redeemer opened their hearts to other gods, major and minor, slowly resulting in a full pantheon being born of their excommunication and outcast status.

Faith and hope are always an important part of religion. I think she is an important goddess, even if she is not as widely worshipped as others.

Faith and hope are SO important! They're themes I want to continue to weave through Malkora always, even as darker bits get dredged up piece by piece. There's a reason Vosra was the first and most influential Incarnate! A little bit of hope goes a long, long way. It'll be so fun thinking of new ways to incorporate her shards into other places in the world as I write them!

I think it's so super important to acknowledge the Redeemer archetype and its existence in all cultures. I always love when people incorporate esoterica from the world we live in (I'm thinking of the shards). It sets me at my ease. Your description of the tenets of Vorsa, the Redeemer have me picturing a softly glowing, gentle presence overwatching with love, knowing the prudence of when to step in and when not to. And that has me hoping that one day the the shards of Vorsa, the New Dawn will come together once again, renewed in their paths to their own redemption -- which is reintegration with the Whole.   Anyway, inspiring stuff. I like your Leyline of Revelation, too. Very apt.

Redemption is such a powerful journey, and it's always fascinating to see how different people/characters' paths to it — or away from it — can be. I enjoyed finding this window to explore the theme in my own world, and writing it during WorldEmber, and I'm eager to explore the tales of Eletta and Entelen more when time or storytelling permits!   Thank you for the read and kind words <3

I think it is great that those who are lost or outcast have their own way to find solace!
