Phaetus
Phaetus is the god of shadows, death, and fortune.
Phaetus has a smaller following than other gods, excluding Mephistopheles. Many non-worshipers of Phaetus see Phaetus worship as the glorification of death and decay. Phaetus’s disciples disagree, saying that Phaetus teaches her children to accept the inevitability of death and appreciate the beauty of life in its finite form.
Those who devote themselves to Phaetus seem to have abnormally good luck, which non-worshipers say is the result of black magic. Out of desire for enhanced luck, many gamblers and delinquents worship Phaetus. Most of these people follow Phaetus on a superficial level and do not wholeheartedly practice and adhere to Phaetus’s teachings.
Phaetus is mostly popular with the Beast Races, particularly Deep Elves, Deep Dwarves, and Tieflings. Phaetus is represented as a gargantuan skeleton encased in gold that has been molded to resemble a woman's figure.
