☆ Aarciati
Aariciati are the ruling species of the planet Lyrilizia. They are essentially humans that are controlled by small charms.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Aariciati are much like humans in their anatomy. They appear as humans but with slight differences such as their wings, horns, charms, and unique eyes.
☆ WINGS
With each subspecies, they all have one thing in common. Their wings. Each species has their own type of wings and some can even hide their wings. Each species with varying function.
☆ HORNS & HALOS
With each subspecies, they either have horns or halos. Halos work similar to auras. They hover above the head and often reflect the persons charm. The more blueshifted the halo is, the lower their charm is in life. Horns, only belong to the Devil Aariciati. These horns are formed from cartillage sprawling from the top of their head. These horns serve as a last resort in a losing fight for the Devils.
Growth Rate & Stages
Each Aarciati begins as a Chain. As they grow older, how they decide to treat their charm determines whether they will continue as a Chain or an Upperhand.
AGE 1 - 10
Beginning stages. Charms haven't fully developed and cannot be shattered. Quests don't exist yet. A sin has not been chosen. Charms are to be refilled on the daily with a nectar that's emptied from a fully grown charm. To get this nectar, a person has to cause a slight crack in their charm and pour it into the young one's charm.
AGE 11 - 15
Mediant stages. Charms are not yet fully developed but are at high risk of shattering. Small quests are to be completed. A sin has not been chosen. Charms are to be refilled using the quest system. Unlike the older ages, if these quests are to not be completed; shattering can and will occur. Charms are very fragile at this age.
AGE 16 - 21
Growth stages. Charms begin to rapidly grow and form a shield. Full quests are to be completed. Sins are chosen. Charms are to be refilled using the quest system. If the person is not careful, the shield around the charm may not grow properly and cause shattering. This stage is the only stage where a chain can become an UpperHand
AGE 22+
Fully grown charms. Feeding young charms is possible. Shattering can now heal and the charm has grown its shield. Sins and classifications have been chosen. Full quests refill charms. Shattering only occurs through refusal of quests. . If one survives the Devils, immortality is common.
DEATH
The death of an Aariciati occurs through the shattering of a charm. Once a charm has become overloaded, the said charm self-destructs. This leads to an immediate death or sentient uselessness.
1. Death by outside sources
If one happens to be stabbed through the charms shield, healing is possible but results in severe brain damage or paralysis. Any age can die like this. Executionists use this method.
2. Death by nectar loss
Most common in the younger stages but can occur with a nursing charm. If one happens to run out of nectar, their charm will paralyze after 24 hours. This results in the paralysis and death of the person.
3. Death by quest incompletion
Can only occur at growth stages. If one happens to deny a request, their charm will self-destruct and explode. This results in the immediate shattering and death of the person.
4. Death by charm neglect
Can only occur when fully grown. If one happens to deny a quest for too long, their charm will quickly drain. This results in the quiet death of the person.
When it comes to charm death, #4 aka "Death by Natural Causes" is the most ideal and least painful. Purposeful self destruction results in becoming a Broken Chain. When they die they turn into a Fitzen.
Ecology and Habitats
Aariciati thrive in cold weather where their charm can freeze over when necessary. Too hot of weather can cause the nectar of a charm to evaporate and too cold of weather can cause the nectar to freeze. While, just below freezing refreezes the shield. Many Aariciati thrive in Tundras or cold Forests. In Forests, berries can be crushed into nectars. In Tundras, hiding places are beloved and easy to find so many Aariciati burrow and create shelter from the executionists.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Aariciati fuel their bodies entirely through their charms.
☆ CHARMS
Every Aariciati is granted a small charm at birth. It is of their utmost concern to take care of this charm or death will collect them. These charms are small figures of varying shapes made of glass. Inside these charms is a nectar. This nectar automatically refills once a quest that is projected once a day on a Aariciati's palm is completed. These quests range in varying difficulty but correlate with the Aariciati's sin. Berries can be crushed into nectar and inserted into the charm for a quick refill.
Mental and Physical health plays a large factor in the welfare of a charm. Those with low mental or physical health will drain faster than those with high mental or physical health.
Biological Cycle
Many Aariciati hibernate during the time where the Executionists pass over their town. Majority of the time, this is early winter to early spring. But, the Aariciati who live in warmer climates tend to hibernate during the summer.
Behaviour
☆ EXECUTIONISTS
There are 2 executionists and they are known as the "Angels". These Angels swoop in and execute however many Aariciati's the quests order them to. This causes a craze in the Aariciati's life. Many Aariciati's are taught to fight from a young age and encouraged to become an Angel. Aariciati's are often a nomadic species due to the nature of the Angels.
On the flip side, there are 2 healers and they are known as the "Devils". These Devils save any Aariciati's they can.
☆ KEYS
There are 4 keys with 4 respective doors around the world. These doors and keys are placed in each territory and are consistently fought over. This causes the world of the Aariciati's to be wartorn.
