Leonorin Willowsong

Early Life

Leonorin Willowsong’s earliest memories are of filtered moonlight through silver leaves and the soft hush of wind moving through ancient branches. The Lunareth Forest was a sanctuary, revered by his kin for its natural harmony and tranquil peace. As a pallid elf, Leo was raised with a deep respect for silence, observation, and stillness. But among a people who valued introspection, Leo stood apart for his restless curiosity.
Leo was a natural observer. From a young age, he noticed things others missed — a snapped twig here, a strange shimmer in the air there. He had the eyes of a tracker, sharp and attentive, and a mind that constantly sought answers, driven by an insatiable curiosity. Though patient and meticulous in his approach, Leo’s curiosity often led him down risky paths. He didn’t just want to admire the forest — he wanted to understand its hidden corners. If a path was marked forbidden, Leo found his way to it. If a story warned of ancient ruins best left alone, he made quiet plans to find them. This recklessness, tempered by his sharp senses and calm demeanor, often kept him from serious harm — but not from trouble.
Eventually, his restlessness overcame the serenity of home. With little more than a pack and his blade, Leo left Lunareth behind, not in rebellion, but in pursuit of understanding. His instincts, once sharpened on deer tracks and echoing birdsong, would soon turn to darker trails — ones that led him to the Shadow Garden.

The Shadow Garden

Years had passed since Leo left the quiet peace of Lunareth Forest. He’d wandered far, honing his skills through experience — picking up odd jobs. He never stayed in one place for long; the road was his teacher now. The wanderer's life eventually led him to a remove highland town near the edge of a glade that changed everything. A series of disappearances had locals convinced it was the work of a vengeful spirit. Leo, driven by his usual mix of curiosity and confidence, decided to investigate alone. He followed subtle signs — claw marks hidden beneath ivy, broken roots that twisted unnaturally, and the scent of iron on the wind.
Leo’s sharp instincts eventually led him to the creature’s lair — a twisted hollow where the trees grew gnarled and silent. Confident in his tracking skills and driven by a mix of courage and curiosity, he chose to act. Alone and without fully understanding the nature of what he faced, Leo confronted the entity. It was faster, stranger, and more vicious than anything he had encountered — a shifting horror with eyes like drowned stars. He fought with skill and precision, but it wasn’t enough. The creature struck back with feral power, leaving him bloodied and reeling.
Just as it moved in to finish him, a blinding light cut through the gloom. Castor arrived in silence, stepping from the shadow like she had always been there. With calm precision and deadly force, she vanquished the creature in a few swift movements, its form unraveling into smoke. Leo, half-conscious and stunned by the ease with which it was done, realized for the first time that there were powers at work far beyond his own.
Impressed by Leo’s skills and courage, Castor didn’t immediately dismiss the young elf. Instead, she questioned him, tested his understanding, and ultimately offered him something unexpected: a chance to join a hidden order with a higher purpose. Leo, still catching his breath and reeling from the realization that there were entire layers of the world he had yet to uncover, said yes. And as such, he began to overcome the many trials and challenges presented to him to become a member of the order of Shadow Garden.

The Order of Adamant

Leo’s path crossed with the party during an assignment far from familiar territory. Tasked with investigating a series of disappearances in the northern reaches of the continent, his search led him into the heart of a decaying, rat-infested ruin known as Verminspire. There, amidst the twisting tunnels and crumbling stone, Leo was outmaneuvered by the Skaven—a cunning and relentless enemy—and ultimately captured. Trapped for months in the darkness, he kept himself alive through sheer will and caution, forming fragile alliances with other prisoners, including a brooding dwarf named Gotrick Ironbelly and a mysterious woman who never offered her name.
Fate shifted when they encountered the Order of Adamant—an unlikely group of adventurers who carved their way through Verminspire’s depths. Seizing the chance, Leo and his companions joined forces with them, fighting their way to freedom. Leo owes his life to their timely intervention and has grown curious about the strange, varied individuals that make up the party. He finds them unorthodox, unpredictable, and surprisingly effective—traits he deeply respects. He sees in the party a rare alignment of purpose—unpredictable as they are, their actions often echo the ideals of balance and protection that Selqwok demands.
Among the many mysteries the party draws into orbit, none troubles Leo more than Zenatosh—a rogue mindflayer they’ve already faced twice. The Shadow Garden has only recently become aware of its influence, and Leo now views his place in the group as a critical watchpoint. Traveling with the Order of Adamant offers him insight into threats that ripple far beyond the obvious, allowing him to act as Selqwok’s eyes in places the Garden cannot yet reach.

Skills and Fighting Style

Leo’s skills were not gifted—they were earned through relentless trial. When he first joined the Shadow Garden, he was subjected to the same grueling training as all initiates: a harsh regimen meant to forge divine warriors to uphold Selqwok’s will. He shed blood, sweat, and tears, pushing his body and mind to the brink in the hopes of obtaining the overwhelming power as demonstrated by Castor. But no matter how hard he fought, the divine spark within him never ignited with the same intensity.
Refusing to give up, Leo adapted. He leaned into his natural talents—his keen observational skills, his elven arcane bloodline, and his uncanny patience. While others invoked divine power through sheer will and faith, Leo used cleverness, subtle magic, and ruthless precision. He combined discipline with the agility and cunning of a rogue, developing a fighting style all his own. In battle, he is a ghost in motion—striking from the shadows, exploiting weakness, and weaving arcane trickery into every movement. Where divine warriors blaze like beacons, Leo is a scalpel: silent, deliberate, and unrelenting. His unorthodox fusion of rogue finesse, elven magic, and paladin vigilance has made him one of the order’s most unpredictable and effective agents.

Leo's Chronicles

Though Leo is not one to boast, stories of his missions, missteps, and near-miraculous escapes have a way of surfacing during fireside conversations or relaxing moments on the road. Below are a collection of stories he has shared throughout their travels.

Leo and The Painted Wolf

In a quiet woodland settlement plagued by nightly slaughter, Leo was dispatched to uncover and eliminate the source. The signs were subtle—deep claw marks that didn’t match any known beast, tracks that disappeared mid-run, and villagers too afraid to speak. It wasn’t long before he identified the creature as a lone werewolf, cunning and territorial. Knowing even a scratch could doom him to its curse, Leo laid intricate traps, baited its hunting grounds, and used various items to confuse its senses. The final confrontation was a dance of blood and breath—Leo striking only when certain, never allowing the beast to land a single blow. By sunrise, the werewolf lay dead with a silver tipped bolt lodged into it's heart, its curse unpassed.
