Nightshade

The true leader of the Shadow Garden is an enigma. Though their identity is unknown to the members, they are referred to simply as Nightshade, and are believed to receive orders directly from Selqwok himself. The members never receive direct orders from Nightshade, nor do they interact with them personally. Instead, they follow instructions given by the Handler, Belladonna, who is the intermediary between the operatives and Nightshade.

To the agents of the Garden, Nightshade is more than a leader—they are a symbol of the Garden’s values: quiet, focused, and unwavering in the pursuit of balance. Though rarely discussed aloud, members often wonder who Nightshade really is, and how they possess such unerring knowledge of the world’s most dangerous threats. Rumors abound: some say Nightshade was once a powerful paladin who vanished from public life, others believe they live among the order’s ranks under another name.
