Crocheter

Among the many paths and callings a jinn can take, none is as high, nor as exclusive as that of the crocheter.
Crochet is the most noble art of the jinn. Only those who have mastered both weaving and knitting, and shown great talent in both, are allowed to learn the art. Those who have shown sufficient talent are privately interviewed by the Crocheter's Guild to determine the amount of promise shown by their personality and skill. Those who are accepted are brought to live in an Interim Threadsmithy by the edge of the Guild's district. They are taught by a Crochet Master, and, if they show enough talent for the art of crochet, are inducted fully into the Guild. Little was ever revealed about the induction process, but it is known that it involved crocheting an intricate and unique symbol over one's heart, and that the symbol was never removed from the body of any Guild member, even after death.
Those apprentices who are not inducted into the Crocheter's Guild are still free to use their craft to serve the general public. These individuals tend to gain some level of renown from being a master knitter or amateur crocheter. For the most skilled tasks, however, a full Guild member is usually desired to ensure the project is completed correctly. Crocheters are in high demand for the most elegant of constructions, from precious trinkets and decorations to the most regal of buildings.
The life of a member of the Crocheter's Guild has many opportunities for the select few who are awarded it. Any individual gains fame just for being inducted, but the very special within the organization can gain even more renown for their accomplishments, discoveries, and contributions to the lives of the jinn. Members of the Guild do not just learn the art of crochet; they live it. They build themselves customized houses and threadsmithies to fit their exact needs out of crocheted surfaces, they crochet for themselves garments of whatever style they desire, and they even learn how to make living creatures, the amigurumi servants that help them out with whatever they need, all crafted purely from their threads. For a jinn to become a crocheter is not just for them to learn the threadcraft, but rather, for them to gain access to all that their heart may want, and to be able to explore whatever avenues may interest them.
