The Everchanging Marshes
Geography
The Everchanging Marshes is a huge floodplain that slowly drains Continent Adwana's western rivers toward the Empty Ocean.
Ecosystem
Most of the area in the everchanging marshes is composed of... Well, marshlands.
Near the southwestern shores of the continent, the marshy land changes a bit and gives way to a temperate rainforest. Where the land meets the sea, however, mangroves take place.
Ecosystem Cycles
The Everchanging Marshes main characteristic is that it dramatically changes with the each season. The region is inspired in a real-life region, the Okawanga Delta (huge dry season on january-july, but huge humid months from august to december. Here in the Marshes, however, it rly gets marshy due to the natural soil of the area.
Localized Phenomena
The The Annual Flooding occurs in this region. This event changes the entire landscape from a hellish dry region to a paradisiac marshy land. It occurs due to the rains that fall in the Dwarven Mountains to the northeast and that drain into the marshes' huge river's basins.
Climate
Humid and hot on summer and dry and cold on winter.
Fauna & Flora
The flora that live here is characterized by trees adapted to both fire and floods. Furthermore, the landscape is entirely taken by macrophytes during the flooding period.
The fauna is composed of many aquatic animals that are also adapted to survive dry periods (such as crocodiles and hippos), as well as other big wandering creatures (such as lions and elephants)
Tourism
Many come here every year during the flood period to do savannah-like tours.
