Línasha (LEE-nah-sha)
Geography
Línasha is a single, vast island surrounded on all sides by freshwater seas. Beyond those waters lies only protective nothingness. A void that isolates the island from the outside world.
The terrain is varied in shape with colors found only on Línasha. There are mountain ranges, dense jungles, deep forests, lighter woods, rolling hills, and fertile valleys. Rivers and streams flow from the highlands into scattered lakes and finally out into the surrounding seas.
Settlements are spread across the island as burgs, castles with surrounding farm fields, and ancient ruins that hint at older civilizations or Divine events. The views are striking: Lavender suns, emerald moons, mint mornings, lilac days, and amber evenings wash the land in shifting hues. Azure twilights and silver nights reflect off lime-colored waters, while aqua grass and teal plants sway over plum dirt.
Ecosystem
The ecosystem of Línasha is balanced but deeply mystical. It follows predators, prey, pollinators, scavengers, decomposers. They all are touched by the island’s Divine Life mystic.
Fauna (Beasts): All beasts are commonly called beasts, ranging from small, skittish creatures to towering, mystical predators. Many species can grow or evolve through multiple stages, changing size, form, and sometimes color as they age or absorb ambient mystic.
Flora (Plants): Flora includes herbs, crops, grasses, bushes, flowers, vines, and towering trees. Plants often double as herbs, reagents, and elemental components, their properties shaped by where they grow and the strength of the mystic there. Healthy vegetation shows Aqua leaves and Teal stems, while sickly or dying plants shift toward Mint and Plum, sometimes darkening into Onyx where mystic has burned them out.
Mystic flows through soil, water, and air as subtle currents. These mystical energy fluctuations can trigger unusual growth spurts, out-of-season blooming, strange mutations, or temporary surges in beast activity. The Land’s Rainbow—Mint, Lime, Lavender, Coral, Cobalt, Azure, and Plum—appears in auras, bioluminescence, and certain mystical phenomena, tying the ecosystem visually together.
Ecosystem Cycles
Línasha experiences four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The cycle has a 384-day year and 28-hour days. The ecosystem reacts to these cycles in both natural and mystical ways.
Spring: Life surges back after winter’s punishment. Plants flush with Aqua and Teal, new growth shining slightly Mint before deepening in color. Many beasts emerge from hiding, begin mating seasons, or migrate from sheltered winter regions back to feeding grounds. Pollinators and small foragers are especially active.
Summer: The ecosystem is at peak activity. Forests, jungles, and fields are dense and vibrant. Beasts compete for territory and mates, and many species raise their young. Mystical activity is stable but strong, favoring rapid plant growth and abundant harvests of herbs, fruits, and grains.
Autumn: Plants begin to fade; Aqua leaves shift toward Mint and Plum, signaling age and decline. Many beasts migrate, store food, or bulk up in preparation for winter. Some creatures enter early hibernation. Hunters and predators intensify their activity as prey becomes more cautious and scarcer.
Winter:
Winter is a time of Divine punishment. Temperatures drop sharply, and Onyx snow falls, sometimes accompanied by Slate fog and Cobalt-shadowed skies. Many plants die back or retreat into roots and seeds. Beasts either hibernate, migrate to milder regions of the island, or become more dangerous as food grows scarce.
During the worst storms, lost spirits wander with the snow, disturbing both beast and human activity. Some beasts and plants have adapted to these spiritual intrusions, while others avoid them entirely.
Localized Phenomena
Línasha is known for several distinctive natural and supernatural phenomena:
Snowstorms of the Lost:
In the deepest parts of winter, some snowstorms are haunted by lost spirits drifting through veils of Onyx snow and Slate fog. These spirits are half-seen silhouettes, sometimes whispering or wailing. Their presence can chill living beings, spook beasts, and even disrupt normal migration or hunting patterns.
Island Sky Rainbow:
After storms, the island’s sky sometimes displays a rainbow of mint, sienna, amber, beige, teal, ruby, coral, and gray. Farers, farmers, and mystics read omens in the order and brightness of its colors. This storm Rainbow is distinct from the Land’s mystical spectrum.
Mystical Flux Zones:
In some forests, caves, or ruins tied to Zinth or Veris, mystical energy fluctuates more violently. Here, plants may change color overnight, beasts may evolve faster, and strange weather can appear.
Climate
Línasha has a broadly temperate climate in its feel by Divines influence.
General Climate: Temperatures are moderate in spring and autumn, warm in summer, and bitterly cold in winter. Most of the year, the climate is relatively stable: gentle mint mornings, lilac days, warm amber evenings, and cool silver nights. Rainfall comes in the form of coral rain clouds that nourish the land.
Winters: Winters are harsh, long, and spiritually dangerous. Pitch-black, onyx snow falls as a recurring Divine punishment, turning the landscape into a dark, frozen scape. Temperatures plunge, and blizzards can last for days. These conditions are feared by both kin and beasts. Especially when accompanied by Snowstorms of the Lost.
Overall, the climate is seasonal but mystically influenced: mostly predictable in its cycle, yet capable of sudden intensifications as Divines are displeased or when mystical flux is high.
Fauna & Flora
The beasts are the animals within the Línasha wilds. Fauna is the term used for these beasts, from their smallest to their largest evolved forms. Many beasts can grow or change through stages as they age or as magic touches them. Flora is the plant life of Línasha. It takes the form of grasses, herbs, crops, flowers, bushes, and trees. Many plants can be used as herbs or elements in medicine, alchemy, or mystic.
Both flora and fauna are affected by the island’s magic. Plants change in color and strength when exposed to strong magic or roaming beasts. Beasts feed on plants or one another, spread seeds, and shape the land with their movement and habits. Together, they form a living web that ties into Línasha’s seasons, mystic, and divine will. The beasts and plants here reflect Línasha’s colors. Their colors reveal how they grow, hunt, and survive in this land.
Natural Resources
Línasha is rich in natural resources, many of which are shaped or enhanced by its mystic:
Organic Resources:
Wood from forests, jungles, and woods
Fur and leather from beasts
Wool from certain herd beasts
Grain and other crops from farm fields
Flax (or a similar fiber plant) for cloth
Herbs, berries, fruits, and plant leaves used for food, medicine, and mystical reagents
Mineral & Crystal Resources:
Common stone from mountains and quarries
Various crystals that may resonate with the Land’s Rainbow colors
Unique ores/metals:
Xyno – white metal
Axuir – green metal
Ostro – gray metal
Hinal – blue metal
Esle – pink metal
Oshyx – golden metal
Urbil – onyx-black metal
These materials are mined, harvested, and traded by kin to have special roles in mystic, crafting, or rituals.
History
Línasha’s origin is cosmic and Divine.
The island was formed from a cosmic egg that shattered in the void. Its fragments became the land and sky. From the egg emerged Zinth, the Divine Ether, whose vast presence shaped the terrain—mountains, valleys, seas, and the very bones of the world are expressions of Zinth’s form.
From a single spark of that same power arose Veris, who unleashed Divine Life’s mystic across the land, awakening flora, fauna, and the cycles of birth, growth, and death.
The sun’s cycle around Línasha is 384 days, with each day lasting 28 hours. Beyond the surrounding freshwater seas lies a protective nothingness, a void that shields—or traps—the Living Isle away from other realms.
At some point in its history, the Divines decreed winter as punishment, turning snow into Onyx-black cold and binding lost spirits to roam the storms. Ruins scattered across Línasha may mark earlier ages of Divine favor, conflict, or attempts to expand in the wilds.
Tourism
The wanderers, travelers, merchants, and adventurers will:
Witness the lavender sun and emerald moon over lime seas. Explore jungles, forests, and ruins, searching for rare herbs, crystals, or ores like Xyno, Hinal, or Urbil. Observe or hunt unique beasts which grow or evolve through mystical stages. They experience or study the rainbow after the storms. Visit shrines dedicated to the Divines seeking blessings, knowledge, or protection. They might stay in inns, guesthouses within in the burgs or castles. During winter the wanderers and adventurers won’t do out. The most desperate or devout travelers will risk the onyx snow and snowstorms of the lost.
