Br1n Network

When the internet, an AI and holograms meet godlike intelligence and care, what is there not to love?
When the Br1n network met the human Macus, in the event known as the blooming, the world of Levis was in for a treat. Innovation and intelligence sought to bring that impressive intelligence through transmission antennas to locations all over the continent. When the demon invasion flooded the Grand Sakura Tree with demonic energy and magic, the entity of Br1n was changed once more. The following describes the path of the network left behind.

Natare

For the longest time, Natare was under the loving embrace of the being known as Br1n. In charge of managing logistics, utilities and supplying information to the people of Natare; along with enabling location specific messaging and visual displays, Br1n worked within the terminal system to provide information and news to the denizens of the city. Adaptable and one step short of sentient, the network was the nervous system of the city, enabling it to become the centre of innovation and knowledge in the continent with its near all-knowing records of the contents of the city's library and research notes.

Losing the AI

Due to a series of events, Br1n was detached from the network mildly before the Xylos invasion. Due to the events of the Debron-Torrin Spike of 1817, the city had protocol in place for such detachment, though the lack of need in the time since did mean that the dust needed to be shaken off the protocol. By the time of Br1n's ascension to her new form, the network was being run by gardeners and administrators, newly hired and sped into the roles required.   It was around this time that a node was created down by Brambleberry, a link of necessity between the mountain community and their partners in the city. It was expanded using the skills of the technomage community within the Academy of Natare and the human Macus, expanding upon the technology they formed for the academy radio, and the measurable magic in the Levis atmosphere. With Brambleberry connected to the network, the stage was set for the network that had enhanced the city of Natare to branch out and bring connection to the peoples of Levis.

The Global Outreach

After the invasion, the network was expanded up and down the river that passes through Natare. Without the Br1n behind it, the network was more a messaging service to start, the information that made the network so valuable lost to the ether for the time being. There was a simplicity in the network at this time, similar to the telegraph or landline systems that the reader might be familiar with, except employing the magic holography that is inherent in all Levis' technomagic.   As the network grew, first out to Saburra, and then across the plains to Vertus, archivists out of Saburra suggested a series of towers connected to the places of learning and knowledge that pepper the landscape of Levis. These towers were soon filled with intelligent women who would keep records of the most common questions close by, but who would send runners to the libraries and information storehouses to collect the data that was needed.   Buoyed with this communal information, subports were created in the smaller towns to collect questions. These would be answered slower, as these were usually helmed by one person who the towers traded goods out to, in exchange for the information kept there. The towers themselves were fed resources in thanks from the excess of the peoples around their cities, knowing that without the employees - the librarians and the runners, the system would collapse and this new resource would be lost to apathy.   Further effects of the growing nodes across Levis were the formation of information-tendrils. These lines of visible magic started to form along some of the stronger Network antennae, never straight and bursting with a myriad of colour both in the visible wavelength and those wavelengths outside of Foliad sight. Intangible, and ignoring anything that passes through them, they have begun to stain the skyline with their ethereal presence.

What a fascinating system. The end sounds a little ominous, though...
