Palamis
Palamis is a country in north-western Exokkos that lies to the south-east of the Khiones Mountains. It is one of the most militant nations on the continent, to the point that some joke that the people of Palamis are more Maronite than Thalassanos. There is good reason for this militancy, given that the region is under constant threat of invasion from both the Undead of the mountains and the nomad tribes of the Apeilibad.
Territories
The territory of Palamis extends from the Khiones Mountains in the west to the easternmost branch of the Platami River and from the Omicholdasos Woods in the north to the Drysos Forest and Balotis Hills in the south. The total land area of this territory is about 340 thousand square miles. Much of the nation’s territory is temperate grasslands, although there are also the sizable Phaon Marshes and the Baltous Forest in the country’s heartlands as well as the Drysos Forest in the south western region.
This territory supports a population of about 13 million people. While most of these people live on and work the land, living in farms and small hamlets and villages, the country does support 4 major city centres and 28 smaller towns.
