Suriname

The Kingdom of Suriname is a nation within South America, bordering the Empire of Brazil and Gran Colombia.

History

Suriname was a colony of the Netherlands sin 1667. However, it was briefly confiscated by Great Britain during their wars against Napoleon. It was later begrudgingly returned to the newly formed Kingdom of Holland as Dutch Guiana.

Suriname became a major colony for the Dutch, including their major holding in South America. When King Louis II attempted to encorporate ideas of Karl Marx into their colonies, Suriname was excluded, with the concepts being constrained to South Africa.

Suriname became conflicted during the Great War. Being a Dutch colony, it was technically at war with Guyana, which was a colony of Great Britain. Despite this, no military forces were sent. Following the Great Treaty, and the fall of Holland to the Dutch People's Republic, Frederik I escaped to Suriname from the German Empire, establishing a government in exile.
