Duke
A Duke in the Kingdom of America is a hereditary title under Grand Duke but higher than Earl. Dukes are appointed by the King of America after being nominated by the Chancellor of America. A duke resides over entire states, performing royal duties delegated to them in the place of the monarch. The son of a Duke is styled as Margrave. The eldest Margrave inherits the Duchy.
George Washington was the first person appointed as Duke as a reward for his service to the American nation. After his death, he bequeathed his title to his nephew, and King Henry I obliged.
John Adams was the second Chancellor granted the title of Duke after his leadership during the Franco-American Wars.
