Genasi

The Genasi are unique among the mortal races of Eiko, having been touched by the elemental forces of the world. Imbued with power by these primal forces Genasi have innate control over one of the 4 elements, with a select few having the constitution to focus and control that power into more powerful spells. However, as they are not true creatures of the elements like the spirits or elementals, this power will slowly fade from a Genasi should they not recharge at a point of power in the world.   Whether they are descended from one of the 4 old houses, or newly baptized by a chance and very lucky encounter with a point of power, all Genasi must make a pilgrimage every few years to one of these points and bathe in the raw power to maintain this control. The process is very dangerous, as getting too close or lingering too long can overwhelm and even destroy a Genasi.   Genasi come in many forms, with representation from most of the mortal races aside from Tieflings and Aasimar. The only common aesthetic of the Genasi are the ways that the elemental powers affect their physique. Skin, hair, and eyes shift colour and texture to match the elemental energy.
