Sea Elf
In the young days of Eiko, energy leaked through the weak barrier between Eiko and the Fey Wild. This Fey magic mixed with the primordial energy of the Founding birthed the first Elves. Those elves that emerged near the coast of Eiko were infused with the raw energy of the ocean, giving rise to the Sea Elves. While the high elves turned their attention to building their great civilization on land, the Sea Elves never ventured far inland.
It is said that in the time of draconic enlightenment, a massive Dragon Turtle took notice of the Sea Elves. It imparted the knowledge of ship building, voyaging and naval combat. It was then that the Topaz Armada was first constructed, setting sail after the great Dragon Turtle along with the entire Sea Elf civilization. It was only after the rise of the Holimion Empire that the fleet returned, arriving just in time to smash the Orcish fleet and cut off the invasion's only means of retreat. For their service, the Emperor granted the Sea Elves land on the small Island of Haru. As for what transpired on their centuries long absence on the high seas, only the elders of Vuuvaxath and the Emperor himself are said to know the tale
Despite being inately drawn to the sea, the tall, blue skinned elves seem too curious about the goings on of Eiko to stay at sea too long. Their home province is home to some of the greatest dock yards in all of Eiko, and their shipwrights are often requested to advise the efforts of the more coastal provinces. Sea Elves tend to be wild spirited and adventurous, leading even to wander away from the shore to explore the river lands and underground lakes of Eiko. Even so, all must eventually answer the siren song of the sea and make their way back to commune with their true home.
